I'm thinking I'd like to go aftermarket and I like the plate bumpers but wife is going to throw a fit if I spend $1000 on a bumper, I don't have a practical need for a plate bumper, it's just for looks.

Just curious if anyone knows of a good looking plate bumper for $500-800. I'm not sure how much the OEM bumper will be, maybe they're comparable in price but I doubt it.

Look into the RelentlessFab aluminum if you aren't going to beef up your suspension , it's only 55 lbs

If you want one in the $500-800 range, I'd recommend you look into Brut Force Fab

It has even less effect on your truck's suspension if you buy it and leave it off ;)

Here's a pic of it. On top of the bumper damage it broke a support bracket off of the headlight casing that the grille attached to. Hopefully that's the extent of the damage. I was probably doing 25 mph, it thrashed the deer up pretty good. Tossed him about 25-30 feet sliding and tumbling along the road but he got up quick and ran off putting weight on all 4 legs. He's got to be hurting pretty bad though if he's still alive.

    Not enough.
Ditto, he'll can do custom light hoops too and they are compatible with stock fog lights. Click my sig banner.

I also do agree with oz about the light aluminum though and would consider it with stock suspension but I haven't seen anything about the durability of an aluminum bumper.

I took a look, that's a good looking bumper and the price is closer to what I'd like to pay. Thanks for the suggestion, I think I found my new bumper

Sorry if I offended your sensibilities. Don't want to be a douche.

On the other hand, I really considered getting an aluminum Relentless, and kept checking your build, wanting to see yours. So to me you were the douche for not putting the damn thing on...

Then again, I've got Icons, TC UCAs, hood struts, armrest leather and other stuff sitting in my garage, waiting to get put on, so I have come to realize you aren't such a douche...

Well maybe not in that regard

No problem. I ordered one from him, along with one of his high-clearence rear bumpers. Now just waiting for him to finish em and get em shipped to me!

If the OP is not going to alter his stock front suspension , is a steel plate bumper a good idea ?

I don't think so myself , that's why I suggested the aluminum one

Good point, I plan to add a 3" lift within the next year but the bumper will go on long before the lift.

How long does it take, ballpark, from the time you order to the time it's shipped?

I thought the same thing. Then my bumper ended up looking like yours, so the bu,per purchase got bumped up. Which bumped up the lift purchase

You should be fine though, it should only sag a half inch or so. Remember, even though you're adding a little over 100 lbs, you are taking off 50 or so...

Wouldn't know. Ordered mine about a month ago, haven't heard back yet. I was told 3 weeks or so to do the cnc/laser cutting, then a couple more weeks for him to do the fab work. I'm gunna PM him in the next couple days for an update, and I'll let ya know what he says
