I am researching CAI to install on my 09 taco...
I just finished reading this thread
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/43688-cold-air-intake-3.html
which bring up some questions, from my understanding there is no gains from a CAI and other people say there is? What is the hard facts behind this truck? While I am looking for some gain, im also looking for sound. If there are gains involved which system provides the best and has intake noise

You'll get sound. No performance changes.

    Re-useable filter is a plus.

You'll get slightly better throttle response from a CAI, that's about it. Check out either the TRD or AFE Si. URD makes a true CAI that takes in air in front of the radiator and gives slightly lower intake temps but I'd be weary of what else could make it's way into the intake since it's an exposed filter.

So all I can expect is sound? Would I be better off buying a stock style k&n?
Hmm, the cold air intake Im looking into is the afe Stage 2 system. Anything this system has that others dont or the other way around?

Pics of timeslips, with proof that the CAI was on during the faster runs? And I assume you have multiple runs, all at the same atmospheric conditions, same tires, same drag strip, etc?

Not saying you are wrong, but there is a no "proof" in this thread....

I don't know man unless it's on the exact same day, a few runs with the CAI and a few with stock, I'd say 0.2 is within the expected spread of times on multiple runs.

The main advantage in my eyes would be that you can throw on a pre filter when you go on the trail for extra protection. Then take it off and clean it when you're home.
