Sucks man, luckily you weren't hurt, and all those parts are fairly easy to replace. I would make sure they use all OEM and replace, rather than "repair" anything. her insurance will try to do it the cheapest way possible, so let the body shop know you want new parts, and nothing gets repaired. Like others have said, make sure they check the frame, and especially the plastic bed, they can crack pretty easily.

Just realized you said she hit the wheel, and I see the mark on it. I hit a curb going about 15 mph, no visible damage at all and 3 different shops told me I had bent the rear axle. I would definitely have that checked out as well.

I have the wheel listed as something I saw visible damage on as far as expected replacement. I will make sure that I point it out again.

This accident is going to be a huge pain in my ass. I'm just bummed that the truck is still relatively new and was mint minus a door ding.

My insurance company NJ Manufacturers told me that insurance companies in New Jersey do not recognize accident depreciation as a valued asset. They said that a vehicle repaired to OEM standards will not have a diminished value. I told the adjuster I 100% disagree and he told me I'm welcome to contact the at fault insurance company for depreciation value but I will come up empty handed.

Is this a law of some sort? Has anyone in NJ ever heard of this not being a recognizable value?

Not sure about that. When my Jeep was totalled last month, I called the Jeep dealership and asked where to send it. They gave me a recommendation on a shop that they would send it to anyway.

Also make sure you talk to the body shop about what needs to be fixed/replaced. I say this because the insurance guy tried to tell me things were not as bad as I thought they were. Well they actually were.

I also talked to the other parties insurance. They called and told me they were claiming liabilty and they would be paying for my rental.

Oh forgot. Since you drive a truck that's 4x4, when you get the rental don't accept a shitty little 2 door car. They wrecked your truck, you require them to give you a rental of similar stature.
