I hear you on that one... I went the other direction in my Scion though. Just pushing a run of the mill 12" for a little kick, but MB Quart components front and rear pushed with a Sony 800watt amp... The thugs in the civics, or Magnums, or 300's with no music and just bass is who I like to crank up some Rob Zombie over. They hear their bass, with Dragula music all over it ..... In your case, I think you'd win on the average

I had MB Quarts component speakers in my last ride, man do I miss them. My components are stupid loud with hardcore and rap but suck with sound quality. MB Quarts soon in the doors after I replace my sub.

 

The only thing I like better than MB Quarts for sounds quality is Boston Acoustics, but MB's are expensive as it is.

 

These subs I used to have would break off the wire going to the coil from how much they flexed. Fixed em with some solder every now and again. Saved me from buying new subs anyways.

 

FYI, there are shops that repair speakers, might be worth checking into

When it comes to sound quality you get what you pay for, my components were $230 each, wish I paid another $100 and got the high end MB Quarts. This is your transportation, why not make it as awesome as your living room. People spend so much time in there cars I have no idea why they skemp on the radio? Sound sooths the soul.

 

I did, not repairable. Contacted Roford tech department and they said my speaker was toast. Very heavy toast.

 

agreed... I won't spend that much on the Tacoma's stereo, because it's not my daily, the Scion I drive anywhere between 200-250 miles a day

This place is in my hometown and they repair almost everything, might be able to find something similar to them local

Wish I could Namyo, you can't even see the the wires. Subwoofers that we are used to with seeing the wires are way different than these.

For the record, this is not the first time I blew this sub {amp is probably to powerful}. Rockford has a new 1200w sub now for the same price, gonna get that sub when I get the $ and it should hold up. I'm hoping.
