I am taking Tacoma to muffler shop today, I saw where it was talked about running exaust out the back leaving spare tire where it is. I couldnt find post on how...any ideas, I would like to leave tire where it is.

It is possible, it's just a tight fit. I had dual exhaust on my previous Tacoma. I had to use zip ties to keep the brake lines from touching the exhaust pipe. I don't have a picture of the pipe routing, but here is how it exited:

I know it all comes down to personal preference, but IMHO dual exhaust on the Tacoma is more hassle than it is worth. That is the main reason my current truck has the stock exhaust. The biggest problem I had (especially after the leaf spring TSB) was the additional hanger needed on the driver's side kept catching on the leaf springs if I did any moderate off-roading. Plus, after four years of messing with it, I could never keep the tips even and level. I ended up just dumping the exhaust right after the muffler.

What is the point of dual exhaust? Is it for sound enhancement or performance or both? :notsure:

If it is a single in, dual out muffler then it is for sound only. A properly built true dual exhaust with an H (or X) pipe might increase performance as well, but you better have some serious engine mods to make it worth while.

PICS to come, it is true dual, 2 pipes out the back, muffler guy cracked some of the chrome from tip and is ordering replacement. I was going for sound, looks and adding SUPERCHARGER in a couple weeks and thinking exaust may help it breath better...hell I dont know. Will post pics when he puts the other tip on.

It has an awsome low tone when idles. I didnt want it to loud, seems like some v6s sound like moped or single engine plane taking off. It sounds good when I crank down on it.

did a Sunday drive...sounds like crapp, talked to muffler shop today, says he can replace magnafows with stock sounding mufflers at no charge. better to hear nothing than to hear a moped following me around all the time

Kinda a bummer.... I'm not sure if it helps on a Taco, but in my Bimmer forums guys would add a resonator and a muffler to help with rasp... Like I said, not sure if that helps on a taco, but its an option. I'd hate to spend all that money and get pretty much nothing in return...
