damn thats pretty! you're a lucky guy

so i know nothing at all about atv's on the dunes, but whats up with the slick front tires? it seems like that would be the exact opposite of what you want in the sand

The front tires actually have a raised center rib on them, I guess you can say they act as a rudder on a boat, and they probably don't throw sand up in your face.

True, they do not throw sand, but the rear paddles can throw a lot of sand.
There is a rib in the center, it helps to steer, but the front tires are mostly slick to float on the sand. Most of the steering comes from the rear tires, as weird as that sounds and hard to explain to someone who doesn't ride.
You can ride in the sand with regular knobby tires, but they sink in the sand and don't float on top, so it is harder to get around with them. Sand and dirt are completely different riding techniques :D. I love the sand, much more technical and fun.

Yup! That is the hill everyone races on, it's huge :).

I should have been more specific, I meant recreational riding. I agree motocross is very technical and complicated, but fun ;).
Have you ridden a 2 wheeler in the sand? Compare that to trails or a track and you will agree it is all very different from eachother. We ride with a vast group of riders, 2 wheelers, 4 wheelers, sand rails, side by sides ect, so we respect all riders.
