down at the numbered streets off obt now. Hey, i gotta a question for you, im thinking of gettin a dixie horn do you know how to hook that up?

 

Shouldn't be to hard to do. Relay power switch ground and wires

 

stock horns have a power wire, and ground via the bolts that hold them to the truck. so just splice the current power wire to lengthen, shorten, or add whatever connector you'll need (male spade connector most likely), and then depending on the horn design, you may need to run a new ground wire. that's to use the stock horn as the button at least. to retain the stock horns and add the dixie, just wire it like you're wire a set of lights, but use a momentary switch instead of your typical style toggle.

 

When I get it we'll need some beers and git er done.

 

you getting a programable one or just the straight dixie horn?

 

oh and john, it's funny that the CAI thread blew up tonight...... i just built one today lol. makes the truck sounds good at least. that's all i was hoping for though, so i'm happy

i haven't driven mine yet, just start and a little rev. i still need to build the box for it though. currently it's a hot air intake. but the hard bart's over.

john or anyone else with a non drop-in aftermarket intake, when you get to about 4500 rpm, does your engine completely change tone? it's like right around when it reaches the powerband the sounds is totally different? not complaining, just curious.....

 

I've never revved my truck at those rpm's lol

i def noticed a diff in torque and a few extra hp when i threw mine on. it was def a good investment
