yeah the flat black would look really nice since you have the flat black hood decal too right?

I looked into the Line-X vs. vinyl but they run about the same. I got quoted approximately $400 to vinyl the whole top (and this is from a guy that hooks me up) and got quoted $425 for line-x with UV coating.

The pro and con of vinyl is that its temporary. i can't justify throwing away $400 for something temporary. The con for the Line-X is that it is permanent, but the pro for me is that, once i get a roof rack, i can through whatever i want up there without worrying about dinging or scratching the roof.
I do tend to overthink things so i i'll take anybody's opinion.

Think of this way... Is it really a necessity at this point. Like is it a priority?

Most people are going to bad mouth the line x and say crap they mostly know nothing about. I have wanted to do it for a long time, and most people tell me I don't want to do it, which I don't understand because if i didnt want to do it, i wouldnt say i wanted to do it. I think the line x is the way to go. Everyone I talk to that has done it loves it, says it keeps it a tad bit cooler and still looks great

Do it!!! haha I think a dark green FJ (don't know the exact color name) with line-x'ed roof would look great!

How could a black roof possibly keep the interior cooler than a white roof? That makes no sense scientifically...

I agree the black roof looks better though. More and more lately I find myself considering trading my Taco in on an FJ, and I would definitely black out or color match the roof. I say go for it. :)

I agree with you on the scientific part, but supposedly the line x helps reflect the heat somehow.
