I forgot I had this. :frusty: I still want it gone. I knocked $5 off the original posted price. I know its not much but that's all i can afford to drop it.

I should also note that I will not ship to California. Its a PITA. Sorry. :(

Gen 4's are available in CA under the single shot exemption. After being sold you, as the owner, are allowed/able to modify your weapon back to its original configuration. This is true off-roster handguns as long as the shop is able to convert them for the single shot exepmtion (1911's and FNP-45)

nope, it's not about the different features, and it's not cause they are being reserved for LEO.

yes, only LEO can get them in CALIFORNIA, and yes they do have some nice upgraded features.

but the ONLY reason that they are not allowed in CALIFORNIA is because CALIFORNIA has an "approved handgun list" and the GEN4 Glocks are not on it. the reason being is that glock didn't want to send one of each Gen4 AND a testing fee to CALIFORNIA's DOJ Firearms Bureau for the California Handgun Safety Test.

the test consists of a few things that i know of.

-must pass a drop test ( loaded gun must not fire when dropped)
-gun cannot be fired without the magazine fully inserted into the gun.
i'm sure there is more to the test but i'm not aware of the full test.

it sucks. fcuk you people who run california!

BUNK!!! Gen 4's ARE ALLOWED in CA - you just need to know your laws.

If you want one AND are non-leo here's a link.
    http://calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=457509

Other non-list pistols that non-LEO's can get in CA:
    Another Gen 4 link
    Taurus PT1911
FNP-45 (including tactical version - but you need to buy a normal barrel or permanently alter the threaded barrel)
Timberwolf frame (from Lone Wolf Distributors - if you own a glock you probably know who these guys are)

Your other option is to do a PPT from someone who already has a non-list pistol.

All of the above links are legal CA FFL's. The bottom 2 links (DAS) I've personally purchased a weapon from. They also have "rebuild" kits for magazines that are >10 rds which, if you know your laws, you MAY be able to use legally.

Also BB's are required if you have "evil" features on your rifle. If you remove those "evil" features you can have a normally functioning mag release.

Just because they work at a gun store doesn't mean they know anything about guns or the law. And Turner's has been one of the worst (I've also heard American Shooting Center in Kearney Mesa is also bad about stuff like this). There's also a difference between FFL classes. In order to do these modifications an 07FFL is required.

There are legal ways to do it. They're being brought in and modified under the single shot exemption. Once in your possession you may then alter it to it's normal state.

    Here it is for you:

    • 12133. (a) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to a single-action revolver that has at least a 5-cartridge capacity with a barrel length of not less than three inches, and meets any of the following specifications: (1) Was originally manufactured prior to 1900 and is a curio or relic, as defined in Section 478.11 of Title 27 of the Code of Federal Regulations. (2) Has an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of at least 7 1/2 inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled. (3) Has an overall length measured parallel to the barrel of at least 7 1/2 inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled and that is currently approved for importation into the United States pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (3) of subsection (d) of Section 925 of Title 18 of the United States Code. (b) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to a single-shot pistol with a barrel length of not less than six inches and that has an overall length of at least 10 1/2 inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled.
So if you find an FFL that is willing to sell a Gen 4 modified with a "single shot kit" (mag well block - usually delrin block screwed into place - and a "kit" barrel that is at least 6" in length that makes the entire pistol at least 10.5" in length and, more importantly, SINGLE-SHOT) then you may buy a Gen 4. After purchasing it (and getting it out of jail) you may then LEGALLY sell (or return the kit for refund) to the seller and modify your NEW (not previously owned PPT'd) single-shot Gen 4 back into it's original configuration.

If your LGS doesn't won't to do the sale/transfer to you then talk to one of those gun stores I listed and they will be happy to sell one to you. If you have questions or concerns call Direct Action Solutions in Del Mar or Riflegear in Fountain Valley - great group of guys and extremely knowledgeable.
