New Taco owner here and just wanted to publicize the first customazation of my Taco. Custam made sliders that bolt on rather than weld on made by yours truely...

Comment pls... I plan on also fabbing front and rear bumpers in a similar fashion (tubular).

PS This was my first welding experience ever... so be gentle with the dissing of my skills! haha

I have a buddy... (the silly troll looking guy priming them) That works for Fastenal. So I got a slight discount of like 10% but all the steel and mounting bolts ran about $140 and then had to buy some gas for the welder.

All in all it cost about $200 + a few beers and about fifteen hours work.

As far as the points go... I wasn't sure how to end them out so i just went with the points; making sure they were fairly close to my wheel wells so they don't get too hung up on stuff

They look sick! I'm actually liking the points on the end.

Yeah the whole welding process takes some getting used to but by the end of the gussets i felt i wasn't doing to shabby.

i recently moved to Clackamas just south east of portland.

doing more? a second go around would go much faster! haha

    are you actually in portland?

Nice work! Very unique. Pretty good feeling making your own mods. The savings are nice too.

Looks like your weld skills are up to par, that's looking good! Why not weld to the frame??

Hey thanks! Welding is a blast!

Um I chose not to weld to the frame in case I wanted to change them out for different ones in the future... I didn't want to have to grind them off and what not.

Also chose not to weld them because i didn't want to mess with grinding off the paint and increasing the chance for rust.

The mounting hardware I got is just about as strong anyway...
