I put a full treatment of Techron in my tank last time I filled up and got a 1.7mpg boost. Cripes, my injectors must have been filthy!

Before you go saying it was just me adjusting my driving style, check my Fuelly. I monitor my mileage and driving style like an accountant counting his own pennies.

The bottle recommends this stuff every 3000 miles... that may be a bit excessive but I'll be using it again. I envy you folks who have Chevron stations nearby.

Yeah, I have been using this stuff for awhile. I use it about every other oil change, about every 10,000 miles. I really can't notice a difference with my truck, probably because I have been using it since the start.

But my first car that I purchased was used, with about 70,000 miles. I used it, and noticed a big difference with how it ran and with performance.

I do agree with you, that 3,000 intervals seems excessive. I'll stick with 10,000 intervals for now.

I always drop a bottle of "Treats 20 Gallons" sized Techron (I think they just renamed it Pro Guard) with each oil change. It's cheap as hell. I just pick it up when I grab car wash soap and stuff up at Advance Auto Parts.

Personally, I use it a full tank before a change since the stuff is a solvent and any that blows into the oil I want to get out of the oil asap.

Also for the OP, I've noticed that on some vehicles the additive will increase the milage for that tank only. Once the additive is clear from the tank, it goes back to what it was before.
