Yeah that was roughly 2 years ago. So who knows how it has changed. In the video you posted it looks like the 2 rocks in our pics that caused most of the body damage on that first obstacle are gone now. You guys should have a good time. I am unfortunately busy this weekend now and something about Karma keeps me away from that trail. :)

oh well that's convenient about those rocks now being gone...i see a lot of areas where skids will be coming in handy for sure...we'll have to be very careful with jace, but at least he's got some new rubber so he shouldn't be sliding all over

we'll be taking it as easy as we can i'm sure...hopefully the weather holds off for the morning climb

yea sounds like you've already left your mark on the trail...but maybe with full armor underneath you'll feel more comfortable about coming back

anyone hear anything about these shackles?

    http://www.definedengineering.com/products.html

EDIT: after reading more...there are extended shackles that would lower the truck, or there is a stock size to give you little to no lift, but will give you a better bushing and make the joint greaseable

I don't know of anyone using them, but he seems to offer a good product and have a good rep with the LT guys. He has a shackle mount crossmember that I am interested in as well.

If I did a SUA setup, it would be a Defined kit.

You know I don't have an issue at this point. It is always the frame mount on the front that squeaks for me. And now that i have replaced everything with Ploy's that came with my Expo springs I haven't heard a sound. Of course I guess it is a matter of time.

I do like them though. Although I think if I am going to change my rear set up I would go with the ATO set up that changes it to a regular shackle mount.

Yeah still need to order up the T case skid so I am completely covered. My problem last time was the darn AP T case "shield" I have. It is stronger than the aluminum tabs on the T case itself and broke the tabs off opening up the Tcase.

Good spotter would be the key but also where I broke (dubbed the rock garden) there was a bypass that could have been taken which I am thinking the stock jeep may have done just that. There is also a bypass for the first obstacle in the video. Two other good obstacles that I remember throughout the trail do not have bypasses but with armor you will be just fine.

You guys better take some pics. :D

These shackle mounts look a little longer than stock, so if that is the case it would actually lower the truck since our shackles don't hang. The only way to get a lift is to go with the ATO product. It would be nice to have a greasable shackle though.

yea, reading more into their product, they offer the extended (will lower) or the stock (little to no lift gain)

they will give you a smoother joint and allow for a greaseable joint
