TRD supercharger driving characteristics

Hey all,

I finished installing my charger today and i'm pretty sure i flashed the map correctly in the apr x1 with my thumbdrive (won't know for sure until i get a usb cable for my laptop).
Drove it a few times today and a few things concern me so far:
On cold starts it idles really rough. It accelerates nice and smooth (no full throttle runs yet) but if you let off the gas after being in boost it lags or de-accelerates kind of hard, like a down shift. Hard to explain- Is this normal? Is driving with a supercharger supposed to be this herky jerky - i figured it would be smoother with my auto trans.

My A/FR's look to be on target, but this is with a scanguage II. Cruising at 50mph my A/FR hangs at about 14.5. At about 60% throttle it dipped to about 13.2, but climbed back up.

Once i can confirm that i have the correct calibration in my X1 than that's one less thing to troubleshoot.

 

Should'nt have that herky jerky feel. Last time I had that was because my MAP that was flashed was not getting good MAF readings due to my Volant Intake. Fixed that with a Correct MAP, but deffinately changed intakes when I installed the SC.

Did you not get a USB cable with your X-1? Mine came with one. I would hurry and get one ASAP. Only way to know whats really going on, and what MAP you flashed to your ECU.

It's been a year since flashing my x1 for my headers and don't know where i put the cable. Do you know if it's a standard A/B type usb chord or do i need to order a special one.

Yeah, when i let off the gas it kind of downsurges/upsurge, just not smooth at all. I'll try to call APR and Gadget today.

 

Have you done any datalogs? how does the fuel and spark look?

I was on the phone earlier with David from APR - top shape customer service and had a lot of patience going over xtune with me. First off, if any of you lose your usb chord you can use any standard A/B type usb chord (no special chord required).

So got the correct drivers installed and hooked my laptop to the X1 and even though i flashed the supercharger map with my thumbdrive my xtune on my laptop showed i was still running the N/A map.
Got the supercharger map installed and everything runs MUCH smoother. Still a little harsh when you step off the gas, but overall better.
I've never data logged before, but it seems pretty striaghtforward. I got the "how to data log" from XR-underground and will try to get some logs in to see overall performance.

 

Yeah when I change my tune I prefer using my laptop. That way you can see what is uploaded.

 

Now all you have to do is make sure your AFR's are straight and all parameters seem in check once you data log. Gadget and or David are top notch guys. I have had plenty of on phone tech support from both, and they got me where I needed to be. Once I get my final set up, I plan on driving up to visit G-man up in Maryland, pending his schedule; and having him tune my truck in person. I want that 100% assurance that it's all running to spec.

As far as the little bit of harsh feel, if your tune is correct, Ie.. right tune for Cats or no cats/AFR's are good/Inj's are compensating and not being maxed out... I would do a couple of full throttle runs. When you hit a certain % of throttle the X-1 takes full control and adjust to your setup. But remember I said pending the above specs.
