Replacing u-bolts with AAL

I have heard before that anytime you change around the leafs or whenever you loosen the u-bolts that you should replace them. because of the wear and stress on them. I am doing the 5100 and AAL in a day or 2. Anyone have an opinion of this? Gonna do it this weekend so wanted to ask, thanks guys

 

Mine are the originals, they work fine, no need to replace

 

Only replace them if you need more length. After a week, get back under the truck and make sure the nuts are still tight. Other than that, there's no reason to get new U bolts. (unless of course you read the replies below me and figure out that I don't actually know what I'm talking about...)

Once they stretch and you re-use them, they have a tendency to come loose. When the u-bolts come loose - usually causes the centering pin head to sheer off. When the centering pin head sheers off....it can get really ugly.

I'd highly recommend getting new ones.

 

Ohhh yeah.... far too many times. Never happened to me though.... I'd rather spend the money up front and prevent the headaches later.
