I currently have 08 5lug with 36k miles, regular cab. Not satisfied with the truck. I want 4 doors and automatic. I owe 14k on my truck now and I pay $257/month on it.

I found this truck locally LINK --> http://www.dvautocentercars.com/Veh...b-4X4-Low-Payments-as-Low-as-250-a-month.aspx

Now If I can trade my truck in and keep my payment around $250-$300 I am very inclined to do this very quick!

This truck has all I want! 4 doors, auto transmission, tow hitch, 4x4 and v6! The only downside is that it has 111k miles, which doesn't scare me much, since its a Toyota and I am very mechanically inclined, if needed I can drop an engine in it over a weekend without issues...

What are your thoughts on this??

If it's what you want, then go for it.

What about the price of the truck? $15500 sounds good?

Sounds a little high, but then again I haven't seen a taco with that many miles for sale around me. How much are they looking at giving you for your current 5-lug?

I haven't spoken to them yet, found the ad after they were closed. I will call in the morning. My wife is on board if they payment is below $300, which should be do-able... Crossing my fingers...

Did you buy private party? I HAVE to go through dealership, because I cannot be a day without my truck.

Those are super hard to find at a dealer and if you find them, they are priced very close to 2nd Gen's :/

Yes I know exactly what are you talking about... I think that might be the case, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Warranty I am not concerned about at all, I would be happy buying it as-is...

HRM... Another possibility... However... 141k miles... I dont know, BUT with that price I could get this and still be around $250/month on payments. Its NOT ideal BUT has more room access cab, bucket seats, v6 and auto tranny.

I put about 15k miles on my vehicle so this should last 3-4 years before it needs engine transplant...

    The biggest issue is that all Tacos which I could even remotely think of buying are with HIGH miles :( Is it worth it to trade in truck with low miles for a truck with HIGH miles just for the conveniences of;

    1, more room
    2, bucket seats
    3, v6
    4, auto tranny

    ???

I agree X2! I own both and I'd dump my 2010 way before I got rid of my 2000. To me the 1st Gens are built so much better. OP, I'd check around if you are set on a 4X4 DC. I think you can not only find a better deal, but also find one with lower mileage for the price.

    Good luck.

1st Gen is out of question... My wife doesn't like them, she thinks they are too small inside...

I NO longer owe a 5LUG!! The replacement is 2005 Tacoma access cab TRD Off Road v6, tow package with 116k miles.

I actually ended up saving money...LOL My monthly payment went from $257/month to $308/month however thanks to lower apr. Went from 7% apr to 4.5% apr, I will save $1096 over the course of the loan. VERY happy with the truck so far. The TRD buckets are EXTREMELY comfortable, v6 has plenty of power and there is room in the access cab for my whole family :)
