whats up guys....I am a member over at Customer Tacos (same member name) since 07...but that forum pretty much died...I decided to join TW...

Had my taco since 05. I have a 97 taco, 4wd, 2.7L, xtra cab, cool steel metallic. 3'' Body Lift (bought the truck with it on, its coming off soon...I hate it), 33X12.5 Goodyear wrangler silent armor A/T's on 15X8 Eagle Alloys, Full custom cat back and LCE headers. Once the BL comes off I am going to get my taco some 31X10.5 Dunlop mudrovers so it has the stock ride height. And hopefully in the near future I'll get some all pro trail armor and a winch...

I'll get pics of its current config soon....

    Thanks for the welcome guys!

Overall....they suck [bad] but they do have good points.

In the mud they slick up so bad you lose 100% of your traction. Spinning the tires wont even clean out the tread.

Even in wet sand the treads slick up....and don't clean out well either.

After only about 40k miles they are starting to wear weird and are down to about 25%. And the rubber around the white lettering is "flaking" off and exposing the white band underneath.

But....in dry sand they rule. They float right over soft sand even when they aren't aired down. When they are aired down I never need 4wd for dry soft sand. And they really are silent. They make almost no road noise for how aggressive they are (compared to most A/T's). My dad's BGF AT's make a lot more noise then these do.

If you will never take your truck offroad and just want the A/T look...get them. But if you do any type of moderate wheeling then get something else. The BFG AT's are superior tires.

I do a bit of mild wheeling just about every day, so the dunlop rovers will be a great change for me.

That exhaust set up is pretty sweet! I am running an old 4 banger as well. If you don't mind me asking, how much and where did you get it? Be sure to let us know what kind of results you get.

Oh, and welcome to TW from Kentucky!

The cat back was done by a local exhaust shop. Its a cat co. high flow cat and a flowmaster 40 muffler dumped over the rear axle. Its a mix of stock 2'' Piping (between the cat and muffler), ad 2.25'' that the muffler shop welded in (muffler back and between the cat and stock pipe).

I got that done about 3 years ago. When I got the LCE headers about a month ago I just welded a flange onto the cat that matched up with the lce header. Then I painted the cat back with VHT header paint to match the header.

IMO going to a muffler shop is your best/cheapest bet. Just tell them to conserve your stock cat flanges if they weld in a high flow cat because the guys that did mine made it a pain is the ass to get the header on because they cut off the flanges on the cat and welded in the high flow cat. (why I had to track down a flange to match the LCE header and weld it onto the exhaust).

The LCE header cost $380 from LC Engineering. And the muffler and high flow cat welded in by the muffler shop cost me around $200.
