Why the hell wasn't that Blazer in 4lo 1st?

It is right in the middle of slick rock area isn't it? I remember camping by there about 10 years ago, people were running it then, it was awesome to watch in person. I remember some jeeps doing it in 4low. I don't think that area is private but I may be wrong it has been awhile since I was there.

You drive by it on the way to hells revenge and a couple other trails in the park. Unfortunately it's closed :( or we would have run it.

Reminds me of the "Sidewalk" on the Wolf's Head, Cirque of the Towers, WY.

Great climbing route, had a ball on it:

Would a Taco work better than an FJ here? Longer wheelbase - less likely to flip over.

So assuming you had access, what would you need for a Taco to be ready for this? Seems like you'd need grippy tires, 4Lo and good brakes - would you have to have descent assist to make it? Seems like as long as you have the basics of a 4x4 taco, some info on the line and are brave enough, you should be OK.

    No?

It isn't really steep enough to say one way or the other. A 98" TJ can do it no problem, it's really the near vertical climbs, like waterfalls, where WB really helps.

I'd be nervous with a really long vehicle turning around at the top. I'd do that in my Jeep no problem.

BTW to whoever asked about what it would take to do the climb in a Taco, the rock at Moab is like sand paper, my stock tires would do fine there. 4Lo and brakes is pretty much it.

Low range, tires with decent tread, brakes that are functioning normally, and not being a goddamn retard.

The line is wide enough and people should be going slow enough that they can come to a full stop and resolve the situation long before any problems arise.

If not, they're either going too fast or being a dipshit.

The driver and his wife had gone up and down it and she decided to give it a try. At the top on the way back down, a rear wheel cylinder failed and after her pumping the brakes several times to slow down... They failed completely and the rest is history. They were both injured in the crash but survived. Older automatic trannys even when in 4lo will continue to gain speed when going down steep grades.

Fine and dandy, but that thing didn't appear to be in low range at all...I'm not sure I could attain those speeds flooring it in 4lo/5th.
