got mine in the mail this morning! they look sweet, good quality, nice and heavy, they certainly dont feel chinsey by any means. the only reccomendation i would have is instead of the switch, a touch power button like the dimmer controls, thatd make it perfect, and shouldnt be too hard to do either! thanks alot guys, great product.

Great feed back. Believe it or not, we have entertained the 'touch-sensitive' ON/OFF circuit but have not yet perfected it. It may appear on a V3... Who knows. :)

    Thanks again!

Yes, the TCMA-0511 V1 is a battery-operated unit. It comes with (4) CR2032 coin cell batteries. We've been seeing anywhere from 6 months to over a year on a single set. It all depends on how many times you 'forget' to turn it off.

There is a wired version in the works and will be known as the V2W.

No pre-orders / No waiting list needed (at this time). We see about 60 semi-firm 'requests' so we'll play it by ear. We do NOT expect the initial production run to sell out so, there should be plenty to go around.

We are in the early stages of production for this product and will keep you posted. We should have an update in the coming weeks.

Thanks in advance to all who are VERY patiently waiting for this. :)

What color did you end up getting? I'm torn between the blue/white and amber/white.

Can you make an LED bar or light in the back of the double cab that would allow a rear seat passenger to read without glare for the driver?

Good question. To answer, we have already discussed the idea of designing and selling separate mounting systems for exactly what you are asking. It certainly is a super-niche request so, it may or may not come to market. The light would have to be mounted somewhat above the reader for proper lighting. We can easily overcome the driver-related issues. It's more about how to safely mount the unit.

As an aside, we have also discussed the design and production of a 'naked' light - one without a case - just the bare bones PCB, batteries, and a switch. The primary use for it would be in the center console storage box or the glove box.

Please let me know if you have any specific ideas in mind that we may have or may be overlooking. :)

Looking at the back, there are 2 (useless) coat hooks above the rear seats, this would be an ideal spot. If you do sell the 'naked light' I might be able to turn the hook upside down and make it into a reading light.

I just barely noticed them sneaky hooks above the rear seats. Had my truck since April 2010.
