my best friend has a 2011 altima coupe that was an impulse buy when his lease was up. before my tacoma, i had a ranger, which he liked and now likes my tacoma. he really wants a mid-sized doublecab pick up, he was thinking he'd have better luck trading in his altima at a nissan place and likes the look of the frontier. personally i like the looks of a tacoma better plus u cant get a 4 cyl 4x4 with the 2011. he doesnt need/necessarily want a v6 but def wants 4x4. as far as i kno, theyre is a double cab, 4cyl 4x4 tacoma but im trying to talk him into getting a tacoma as opposed to a frontier. any points i can bring up to talk some sense in to him???

well, a huge plus, is he has someone to ask if something goes wrong, hopefully you'd have a general idea.

as for a difference, both good trucks., im just a toyota fan after watching the top gear special with the T100 (i think)

Yes, i realize it is a show, but i either wanted a ranger, or tacoma. so i decided tacoma after seeing the show.

and i dont think he will have any more problem ditchin his fancy nissan at a toyo dealership as opposed to a nissan dealership.

trade it in for a newerish and save some valuable dough!

The 4cyl double cab is only a Prerunner or 5 lug, no 4x4.

Just tell if you have drive a Tacoma you get lot's of pussy. If you drive a Frontier you are a pussy:D (Nissan cars not included in this comparison).

Just by the description you gave us about your friend I kind of know what type of car enthusiast he is. Here's the solution. Find the nicest tacoma on this site and tell him he could make his look like it.

They are both good trucks. I would see who gives him a better deal, and which truck he falls in love with. That's how I got mine.

I say keep the car. He will take a HUGE hit on a trade in on a brand new lease he just got. He will puke when they tell him how much he is going to lose.

Actually the Frontier is a pretty solid truck. My buddy has one and it's built well. The only real difference between the Frontier and the Tacoma is the amount of support with the aftermarket. The Frontier hasn't really caught on with the aftermarket like the Tacoma has. But it's a good truck.

I think he traded a leased car in and bought the Altima, but regardless, yes. He's probably upside down in the Altima.

the only frontier i would get is the one with the stock roof rack those look pretty sick IMO. but i love my taco. i had the option of getting a 4x4 frontier vs 4x2 taco. i believe i made the better choice.

Frontiers are nice trucks. Let him pick whichever one he likes best.

Anyone buying a well-made midsize truck is our friend, keeping this segment alive.

I too traded my Nissan Titan in for a Tacoma. I didn't need a "big" truck anymore and just couldn't justify wasting my money on gas. That said, I looked at the Fronty's before I traded for my Taco. Even did a ton of research, the Fronty "supposedly" has a little more hp but the Taco will outrun and out haul it. And I can guarantee you when it comes trade in time again the Tacoma will be worth a heap more than the Frontier.
The Fronty is a nice solid truck, but it just aint a Toyota.;)
