got my undercoverhwms winch mount installed!

I installed myself in 5-6 hrs. The mount is very solid. Very good quality. It's tight behind the grill ,but can engage winch from top. Remote can be plugged in through grill. Minimum trimming on bumper to get warn fairlead to fit. Brain took care if a shipping problem right away and sent phone number to answer any ? I had. Winch is a warn 6000 that is 15+ years old.

 

Looks great Coop. I have my mount sitting in the garage at the moment. I hope to get it installed this weekend, that is if my wife doesn't have other plans for me. The mount itself is very well built and appears to be more than stout enough.

I'm currently doing the electrical for my Warn winch. I'm installing a control switch inside the cab http://www.12voltguy.com/ . I'm also mounting the control box using Brian's mount. Since I have a 2011 the is no place to pass the plug through the grill for the remote cable. So, I have taken the plug out of the box and am going to mount it on the outside of the grill. I'm trying to give it a good OEM look.

 

That would be my last worry! Insurance can worry about it

 

Thinking about doing the mesh grill. It would give you more room to hook in remote and engage winch.

 

any decent frontal crash would cause damage to the radiator.

Shouldn't you have rollers, or switch to synthetic line?

 

That particular Warn Hawse fairlead can be used with cable or synthetic line. He's good to go.

Would this work if you have the avid offroad front light bar installed? I would think it would... Anyone tried this setup or plan to?

 

we need more pictures I have the grillcraft so would like to see where the remote plugs in and more details on the winch price and vendor oh and it looks sweet much better than the big old winch bumpers.

Please do a write up or atleast post pics on this I also have an 11 and going through the grille would be a PITA

I installed my undercover winch mount. It is a very well built mount. I'm waiting for my synthetic cable so I haven't tested it, but it's so solid I really don't have in any worries. The install was not that complex, but it did take me about 8 hours. Most of that was fitting the bumper cover. I also chose to install a in-cab control switch.







I'm waiting for my flip license plate holder. That should make for easier access. Front plates are a law in California.
