Dad is from Fremont, but he and Mom moved to Birmingham for a job in 1979. I was born in 1982, so I grew up here. He's not a huge football fan, so I wasn't brought up to be a die-hard fan of anybody. When I changed schools in second grade, somebody asked me, "Alabama or Auburn?" I had no idea what they were talking about, so I said, Alabama, and the rest is history. I became a much bigger fan in middle and high school, then went to Bama for my undergrad and masters.

And no offense but how did a 6-7 UGA 2010 team even get in the top 20?

The problem with witnesses to things like that is that they're often unreliable. The 'most famous' person in the group is most easily identifiable, and often gets attributed with actions that he/she didn't necessarily take. I have no doubt witnesses pegged JJ, but that doesn't mean they were right. I guess the DNA swabs won't lie, though.

Too bad either way. And regardless of who plays QB for La. State, I still think they beat the ducks.

This was on CFL today, and your right about the witnesses. And as far as that goes, the yellow journalism of ESPN. Police confiscated 36 pairs of shoes, including the pair he was wearing that night. 36 pair, must me a Baton Rouge Menswear also...

I heard he had 79 pair total. Doesn't surprise me. Athletes at schools w/ Nike contracts (or Under Armour, or whatever) get all kinds of shoes, shirts, sweats, etc.

So even if he's cleared to play he'll be playing barefoot. :D

I used to like Bama, a friend of mine that's whole family is for Bama and I was like one of the family, so they grew on me. Of course this was in the Goff era at UGA and Bama was on top and fun to watch. So I kinda pulled for both. FFwd to the year 2001. Mark Richt enters the scene, by the end of the year my instincts have been confirmed that we have something special happening in Athens. By 2002 I said Richt would bring us a NC. Came close in 2002 and again in 2007 and not too far out of the picture in many of the other years in between. Meanwhile Bama was in the tank for a while with some of the troubles the school had gotten into. Then they pick up Saban and boom a NC. Kinda made me resent them since we haven't gotten there. So now I cant seem to find it in me to pull for them much more than I do for the other SEC teams. A little more but not much. Point of this story is that it's hard to pull for 2 teams in the same conference, much less in the same division. I don't know how you can keep any loyalties. I liked watching Bama, but in the end my true colors showed thru. So good luck with that man.

Haha, we've talked about this. My thing is that they aren't direct rivals and whatnot and I have liked Bama for several years and recently picked up watching State so one game a year is tough to watch but it hasn't been so hard. I will let you know after this season though.
