i always walk it first and decide if its worth it. also sucks since i have no fender well lining, the intake is extremely exposed. I had to stick a t shirt in the opening last time i water crossed and its a damn good thing i did that otherwise bad news little 2tr

I try to stay away from water and mud now. It just ruins things.

Before my lift, I went through water that was up to the crease/indention on the doors. I didn't have any water get inside. The key is to keep moving so you create a bow wave which means the water is actually pushed away and not as deep in the engine bay. Don't drive fast through it. Also, do the rear diff breather mod.

Thanks for all the info. I'm defiantly doing the rear diff breather mod that soo many have mentioned. The truck is my daily driver, so I'm not doing anything crazy with it. Like I said, the hurricane got me thinking emergency scenarios.

I did the breather mod and cross this section ever so often to go to a sweet fishin spot. I have crossed it when it was a bit deeper, never any issues, have changed diff fluid on regular maint. and never milky or anything. Love this truck!

On a regular basis I would stick to what everyone is saying. Not above the hub.

In an emergency up to the bottom of the radiator fan. If you get the fan under water things get screwed up real fast.

If you are moving and it is deep don't stop. The bumper is pushing the water ahead of the engine making it lower in there. If you stop you can get the fan to hit water.

A few months after I got my 2006 I was on vacation in Oregon in a 20 year storm and had to drive through this. From Tillamook to Seaside.

The dude in the blue mini van got a wave over the windsheild. Nobody stopped everyone just drove around.
