Unplug the pigtail that is connected to it. Then it will be two tiny screws undo them and carefuly take it out. Get some electric contact cleaner and spray real good on the outside as well as in since that is where the actual sensor is. I will try to find a pic for you.

Thanks! Lots of $$ to get it there but well worth it. Once you fix your issues you should put up a build page of yours.

    Ok will do.

I dont have a good job right now, im barely getting by. So there wont be a build page of my tacoma for awhile. I gotta finish school and get a good job. And to start would be my engine, and that would cost 4,500 to rebuild, although i really want a 4 banger to swap it out with, but im not sure if i would have to do any mods to make it fit.

Lol not a problem besides I am at work bored out of my mind. Another thing to think about also is cleanng the throtle body and IAC valve if you are good with your hands and a few tools shouldn't be hard to do.

How high of an idle? That is normal for out trucks my 97 and now my 02 both had a high idle at the start up before it was warm it is always around 1000-1100 rpms then should drop to around 700-800 once it is warm.

You can always get a tach later. Yea it is hard to find a well priced one but in a way they are gold. Once you get all the kinks worked out that will be a great truck.

Ok....somy C.E.L. went away this morning.. havent done anything else to it yet (havent gotten around to cleaning the sensors yet) The only thing i can think of is that i went through a whole tank of gas with the SeaFoam in it... maybe that had something to do with it...not sure, just glad the light is gone!

Do yall think its a Good thing it went away and it means its no longer throwing the code or.... something else?? lol

Definitly clean your Throttle body. my 97 has 175K and I cleaned it recently and it was FILTHLY. When you clean it take it off the intake, it makes it much easier. Its a few hoses and two electrical connectors and four nuts to take it off...and it so much easier and you get it a lot cleaner with it off. And before you do that go to autozone and get a feltpro TB gasket because the stock one will fall apart when you take the TB off the truck (lol....trust me). And clean the IAC valve which is on the bottom of the TB held on with 4 philips scews. Take it off before you clean the TB because all the crap from the TB will drain down into the IAC. And the four screws on the IAC strip very easy so be careful. Clean the IAC with some electrical contact cleaner because you dont want to mess with the valve and break it.
