Got my N-Fab 2" tube running boards installed Tuesday night. Easy install but it was colder than a Witch's posterior that evening (~35 F & windy)! These are some very nicely made parts, so far I'm liking the look and functionality. Gloss black powdercoat:

All there is left to do is window tint the driver/ passenger glass and I'm done for a while.

You are right, there are too many dumb-asses who just don't give a crap if they scratch or ding your vehicle. It's one thing if you damage your own, and another when someone does it for you.

These do provide some protection, the hoops project from the peak of doorskin maybe 1.5 to 2". The tubes are tucked in a little, so they may not protect much except around the rocker area.

I don't mind at all, got 'em from 4Wheel Parts for $406.40 to my door. I think they still have them on sale, 10% off or something like that. There are other choices of finish (textured flat black, chrome look powder etc) at additional cost. I've heard Smittybuilt carries the same product but I haven't found their prices to be any lower.

Look nice, and you will see how easy to exit w/o having your leg rub them, like they would with running boards.
