I want to add two Hella 700s or two KCs and I don't want to drill into the bumper. I think I can make my own light bar.

I want to make something like the N-FAB or ellis light bars or just make two tabs or brackets big enough to hold a light and bolt it near the license plate on both sides where my aftermarket fogs are.

Has anyone made their own light bar? Show me some pics so I can get an idea.
    Thanks for the help.

It probably would be pretty simple to fab up a simple bar that bolts or welds up to your frame through the slots by the license plate. Some 2X2" steel would work well for the bar part.

I believe Tw member snobord made some and sold them to other members. Idk if they would fit the very first generation of Tacomas but you could look to them for a little inspiration

I actually like the purple color on the 95-96. Nice truck!

It wouldnt be too hard to bolt a bar onto the steel bumper behind the plastic.

    Nobody has any pics?

Oh well, thanks for the input. I'll post a picture when I make a bar.

After a trip into Baja, to Gonzaga Bay... BOTH Kragen HID lamps cracked! The black ABS plastic is no match for Baja's washboard graded roads!

Josh repaired them both with fiberglass... but next Father's Day he gave me a pair of Hella 4000 METAL lamps (see post above).

The most recent change as to make room for all 4 lamps... then I tried converting the Hellas to HID.

Funny this thread should come up. I was already wondering about how to mount round lights on either side of the license plate.

Thanks everyone for the help. I'll let you know how it turns out. I don't know if I want the brackets to go through the bumper or under.

    Look at build!
i made what i call a light bar that goes behind my grill out of aluminum angle iron and it has worked flawlessly for me so far, so ou could try something along those lines if you can find a light to fit behind your grill, check out the last page of my build for pics.

I got started making the light bar today after finding some left over metal in the shop. It is kind of like the one dmz1241 made. The brackets bolt into the existing holes where the fogs were. I still need to cut the brackets shorter so it is closer to the truck then weld them on. Then i'll weld caps on the ends to close it up and paint it. Here are some pics of what I have so far. It's simple but I think it will work.

Plenty of people have pics but it's a matter of how applicable they are to what you're looking to do.

If/when I start running scheduled night races I'll have a bar across the top of the windshield in addition to what's on the front of the truck. :)
