    Good evening to everyone....

This is Sonny from Downsouth Motorsports...Jon and I work together and Jon takes care of the website side and I work on shocks and the E-Bay side...
Yes prepare yourself, this is going to be a long one...

One of your members had bought a set of "4" Bilsteins for the '05-'09 Tacoma from me on E-Bay on the 24th and went to have them installed and noticed that one of the rear shocks was leaking in the box...

Here is the e-mail I get this afternoon:

I went to have my local tire shop install my shocks today and come to find out the one of the rear shocks is leaking. The box is wet on one of the ends. These were not installed. I put them on the store counter and the guy noticed the oil coming from the shaft side of the shock.
I am expecting a replacement sent to me as soon as possible. Please tell me how you are going to arrange for UPS to pick up the package as well. I would appreciate a quick response and solution to this problem or I will be forced to contact Paypal for my money returned. I attempted to contact you today Fri 30 at 445pm pac. time but your phone was turned off. Thanks

I left the members name out...

I do not open the box's and inspect them before I ship them...
That way they are truely factory sealed...

Here is why I am bummed and am not sure how to respond...
I contacted him via E-Bay with in 2 hours of getting his e-mail...Still no response...Called him and left a message on his cell phone..Still no Response..
He had sent a pm to us and I responded to it....Still no response
I offered to take care of the situation First thing on Monday and Red Label him a new shock and put a return label in the box for him to send the leaking shock back...I am bummed because we have gone above and beyond for most of you and when you needed help or a deal on the shocks, 9 times out of 10 we helped you out without question....

All this guy had to do is call and say" Hey I have a leaking shock and I need to get it fixed asap.." No problem....I stand behind ever single shock I sell and without question will replace it if there is an defect...But come on threatening to go to Paypal before I have even had a chance to fix the situation..

Chris4x4 (Moderator) I was going to contact you because I was going to offer a group buy on the '05-'09 Tacoma and the '95.5-'04 Tacoma
because as of Feb. 16th Bistein is raising the price and I bought more than usual so we could do the group buy and hold off the price Increase until the end of March or the beginning of April..

So long story short, If someone out there has an issue, Please contact us first and we can sort it out....

Chris4x4...Call me and let me know if you are interested in doing the above mentioned "Group Buy"

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this and I hope that all of you have a Good Weekend and we appreciate all of your business..

    Sincerely,
    Sonny McIntyre
    Downsouth Motorsports

Im not a Moderator on this site. Not sure where that came from. Dont sweat the issue about the shock. Somethings get thru QC, and its not something that I havent heard of before. Not sure why the guy was so quick to say he was going to go thru paypal, but just tell him how it is. You guys will do the best you can to make it right. Thats all you can do. I havent heard of any ill treatment from your company, and Im sure things will be cleared up on both sides. ;-)

Tcbob is the one you would want to talk to about the site. I told Jon that when I talked with him on the phone. Not sure how the comunication got twisted.

My 5100s from DSM were perfect I would love to do business with them again. Don't sweat one QC issue, I don't think it will sway their positive reputation amongst Taco owners!

dont worry sonny, guy was being a jerk. i bet he figured that if he was harsh he would get his way (little does he know that being calm and cool will almost always get him more!!)

anyone that reads your threads KNOWS that you take care of the customers.

i purchased a full set of 05+ from you after a TN group buy was over for the group buy price, and got the shocks in a few days. you will always have my business and i always recommend you to friends who need shocks.
