should i also replace my coils?

i have a high mileage tacoma (150,xxx) and i plan on getting bilstiens for it. but my question is should i also replace the coils up front? i plain on setting them at 2.5"


and for the rear i plan to get bilstiens back there to but should i just get a new leaf pack instead of the AAL?

 

AAL will be fine. You will have to use the stock coils if you're going to compress them to 2.5" on the 5100s.

Yes 100% replace your coils, don't have to end up doing it twice!

go with ome or eibach, I have ome and they are nice, the eibachs will give some more lift and the ome will make yo sit level If you keep the stock leafs,

and you would be just fine without replacing your rear shocks right away, but you'll notice a nice difference when you do, the biggest difference
will be up front though, also if you get new coils that are longer, set your 5100;s at the 0 setting not the 2.5
this is ideal for the smoothest ride

Need them? No, will they improve ride quality/handling? Yes... you decide.

 

He is saying if you want to set the bilsteins that high, stay with the stock coils,
because you DO NOT want to set them that high if you get ome/eibach coils which will provide the lift instead of the shock compressing your stock coils,

You'll regret it if you don't replace them now either with oem replacements or lift coils,
because you will either have to do the work twice, or pay for it to be done twice.

Is it hit or miss with the vibrations when you set them at 2.5"? Having new coils and setting the bilsteins at 0" will that help eliminate possible vibrations?

 

And you replace the ucas when you go over 3"? So if I just set them at 1.75" I should be good?

 

If you have the money, Replace them now while your doing the work, in case there are alignment issues, if not you will probably be fine, I haven't replaced mine yet but then again I have a 1st gen
