So if I have an 05, I do not qualify for the TSB correct? It still has to be under original factoy warranty, right?

I have an '09 with the old part #'s

Are the dealers offering the old parts back after the TSB is done ?
Why would I want 'em ? I dunno, just because they're mine, I guess.

After a warranty repair is done the dealership stores the parts the warranty claim is submitted to Toyota for payment. Toyota may request the warranty parts be sent back for inspection and they are shipped back if you don’t
have the parts to send back or a defect or a repair is not deemed a warrantable issue the claim is denied and the dealership has eat the cost of that repair. So more than likely you wouldn’t get the parts back if you really wanted them back the ironic thing is once a claim is paid by Toyota after a month or so the dealership throws them away.

The 05's are covered, but it does still have to be covered under the factory warranty. However, that is up to the individual dealer to decide if they want to honor the TSB or not. There have been a lot of people, like me, that got the TSB done even though we have an 09 and that is not covered on the TSB. I also read on another thread that some people got the TSB done even though they were out of warranty. So it is entirely up to the dealer and the service manager.

Prior to going in today, I measured mine in the driveway. I was coming up with a 1" differnce in the P-rear and 3/4" in the P-front. I get to the dealer and re-measure in the parking lot before talking to anyone, I get 1/2" in P-rear and 1/4" in front (I got the same results at least 5 times.

They took the truck in to the service bay (level floor) and pulled an 09 behind it. They took measurements again-same thing 1/4 D-front, 1/2" P-rear. Their 09 was only coming up 1/4" differnce front and rear.

The service manager said he would try to fix it if I wanted by "playing" with the suspension. Of course I'd have to leav it. I said no since the 1/2" isn't worth the aggrevation to me. I drive off and stop at a gas station. I measure again-before filling up. I get my prior measurements 1" P-rear and 3/4" P-front. After filling up-same difference. This is really driving me nuts. I'm gonna give the springs time to settle since I have the complaint documented.

Thanks to all and this forum, the parts are on order for my Tacoma at Pecheles Toyota in Washington, North Carolina. I've bought two trucks and two cars from this dealer and mostly because of their service, in fact, last car I bought I told the service guy the salesman should buy him lunch.

At any rate, no problems as yet, the proof of the pudding is when I pick the Tacoma up.

    Thanks, all.

Has anyone from Hawaii do the TSB fix. So far I have not read anything. I have the pdf print out, but just wondering. I notice a loud thud going over potholes but never don to me. I might test out the heavy load to find out myself. I just need to verify the numbers on the leaf springs whether 3 or 4 springs.

these new springs do work much better, now i have a truck that i can actually use for what trucks are intended for i'll have to wait and see what they do with a full load of wood or gravel so far only loads between 100 and 200 lbs

I just picked my Tacoma up, the TSB is installed. The ride is a whole lot firmer than it was, if I weren't hauling a trailer I'm not sure putting in the TSB would be my choice. But, haul we do.

I think that it is funny that this is a Warranty issue. How the heck can they only replace the springs on trucks under warranty and leave us guys without our warranty to deal with their TOTAL mess up. I dont get it. How do we get this to be a recall? And sign me up. I will picket them just to prove a point and get a laugh. I called my local dealership and got a "no" from them. The guy was trying to convince me to let them do it for $2200. I kid you not. I laughed at him and told him I would do it myself and spend no more than $100. Anybody have any "in" out here in southern california with the dealerships to help a fellow tacoman out?

I called Dublin Toyota about the TSB for my 08 V6 DC Pre Runner, I inquired about the TSB for my vehicle and the agent said "If there is one" I quickly corrected him and quoted the TSB # as I had printed it out.
His attitude changed quickly, he said I would have to make an appointment for them to basically give my ruck the once over to make sure the TSB is applicable.
    What a douche:mad:.
Lucky for me this dealerships service dept is open 7 days a week.

I did get the rear leaf TSB on my 09 DC TRD OR and love the way it drives and rides (much better than previously). Have been very happy over the last few weeks until I noticed that the drivers rear of my truck is slightly lower than the passenger side. Took me weeks to see it and now every time I cross the back of the truck I look at it. Anyone else that has had the TSB had this issue? Need to go back to the dealer, but thought someone may have traveled this road already. Tx

My truck is a 2006 double cab with 80,000 on it and I'm sure Toyota will not do the TSB.
What's a good set of after market springs. IT is a 2WD and I don't want to lift it if possable. Does anyone no what the OEM part number is. Mine has a P/N stamped on it.

There are others. I'm in the same boat. Can you measure the difference for and post your results?
