baby seats

has anyone ever put two baby seats in there 2001 tacoma sr5 extended cab? we have a 3 year old with another on the way. not sure if i can fit toddler seat and infant seat in the back. dont want to have to get a new truck

 

I have a 2000 SR5 Xtra Cab... and I can't see how a rear-facing baby seat would fit properly in there on the jump seats. Forward-facing and booster seats, yes... I've used those for my youngest.

 

I had a 02 ext cab and I fit one carseat in it in the back passenger side, because of the fold up cup holder, it helped support it. When my wife got pregnant with my twins there was no way that would have worked so I got a double cab, and it works pretty good but very tight with three carseats. I would suggest a bigger truck for you if at all possible. I liked the 05+ Tacomas better anyway. Good luck with whatever you do.

 

He's right... hate to say it, but you may want to look at a four-door something with an infant and a 3 year old.

 

I fit 1 car seat behind the passenger seat, and can stick another behind the drivers seat in my DC with nice leg room. Latch system FTW.

Trade in for a DC or make your wife sit in the back bench and strap the second seat in the passenger

 

I can see that happening in2nd gen AC, not so much at all in 1st Gen AC :/

 

We had no problems fitting a rear facing seat in our 05 Access cab, but I can't imagine fitting one in 1st gen xtra cab.
