Truck bed

Are the 2011 tacomas bed liner sufficient for the life time of the vehicle or do we have to eventually bed line it? sorry im very car illiterate

 

I read somewhere and remember someone saying it last for up to 500 years.

OP, I dont think the 2011s are any different from the '05+ ones. . They are pretty hearty.

Yes, get a bed mat. I have one it's the oem one with the TACOMA logo, it looks nice and I've hauled a lot of stuff that would move around without a mat. Also a buddy of mine ask if I even use my bed because he lift the mat and its still clean under there.

Yep that was it a salesman said that saw it on youtube. Anyhow I think they will last a long time if you don't go to crazy with it.

The Tacoma bed will outlast any competitors steel by by a hundred years.

 

A lot of people secure the mats with a bolt or two - I'll be securing mine through one of the drain holes.

I never thought about someone stealing my mat but I've had my truck for 5 years now and mat came with it. On the other hand when going to automatic car washes be careful going out when the dryer goes on. It can blow your mat away. I remember someone on here drilling a screw through the mat on the bed.

I figure in 50-75 years, people will visit salvage yards and find a pristine composite bed with a Tacoma-shaped rust stain in the dirt around it.

As for your original question. It usually takes a wreck to break them, and they'll never rust.

 

I bought my bed mat at my local truck/4X4 accessory shop. Just as thick and lays as flat as the factory mats and only cost me $79.00. Perfect fit too. It was actually made to fit either long bed or short bed. I just had to cut mine on a pre-marked line for my short bed. It's way to heavy for any car wash blower to lift out of the bed. That's just ridiculous.

 

If your worried about stuff moving around get the "cargo divider" its a lot more usefull that a bed mat. I got mine with the truck and love it!

 

I didn't mean for it to sound harsh. It's just that in roughly 35+ years of truck ownership and many car washes, I've never heard of such a thing. Seriously.

 

I like the idea of the divider, but it takes a lot of effort for things to move around once placed on the mat. Without the mat, things were all over the place.
