There is a video (which may have been pulled down), pictures and a list of options.

Start on page 57 of the thread in my previous post. We know a little more than "nothing" as you previously stated.

So, OP, the answer to your question is "No, there is no known date for the brochure's release."

So I have a question.. all things being equal, and looks aside, how much of a difference would it be if I went with the 18' rims (265/60R18) over the 17' rims (265/65R17)?

Is the price of the 18' rims/tires combo gonna be that big of a difference maker in the long run over the 17' rims/tires combo? I went on a few tire websites and it was kinda hard to compare the two. I guess sometimes you can get a deal on the 18' package and thus it'll be cheaper than the 17'. How common is this and is it worth it?

I'm not much of a Chrome guy myself, but ultimately I just want to weight out all the options, cause the wifey (and I guess myself too) am getting nervous about spending $35k on this truck. To appease her I may have to drop a couple of the options and work on them in the aftermarket! (Head unit/nav, rims/tires, etc.) The price difference between the 2 rims are about $600, and heck if I can shave off a couple hundo here and a couple hundo there, I may have a brand new Taco and still get to sleep in the bed at the end of the day! :p

I had a question about 16" vs 17" wheels and the thread is here... With the Tire size calculator you can better determine what tire size would be better with the wheels you choose and the ride height. If you want the 18's the tires will probably be a lot more $$. If you take your truck off the paved road, the bigger wheels and less tire for the same ride height may get damaged easier. If you get a smaller wheel with a larger tire you may be less likely to damage the wheel while off road or if you hit a rock. The more rubber on the road would give more cusion. Your tires may be a little cheaper too. Personaly, if you don't know what the 18's look like, you might want to wait and see. I like the style of some Toyota 16's offered more than the stock 17's of the TRD Sport and will probably go that route. 18's would have to offer a lot more to me like a larger tire that raised the ride height considerably because IMO DCLB's look better with a slight lift. Tires that are too big might require more modification due to rubbing.

    Hope this helped ...

Wow... that actually really helped.. I guess I could have used the "search" function a little bit better, but thanks for not biting my head off about it. :D There's just so many tire threads it was kind hard to decipher all of them to what I really needed. Also, this is all new to me, so it was all pointless anyways, until you put it into context for me. Thanks!! Soon enough we'll both be able to grace these pages with our brand new Tacos!!:yay:

Just remember that the smaller the sidewall is, the worse your ride quality will be.

There is a noticeable difference between the way my 2011 rides with the 16's versus the way my 2007 rode with the 17's.

The fact that all of the recent news we have heard points to a September 1st "official" release date of the announcement of the 2012 Tacoma.

This is correct, Sept. 1st is the date of the lift on the embargo.

I wouldn't be surprised if the actual release date was Sept 5th. This would be the the day after Toyota's Nationwide Clearance event has ended
