Hi i just bought a 03 double cab with 35xxx. All i have done so far is an oil change. Damn it was a bitch to take out the filter.

What else should I change? differential oil? transmission oil? the 3 accessory belts? are these necessary? coolant? i thought the toyota red coolant is suppose to last like 100k? what am i missing?

Im planning on changing my spark plugs on my day off.

The previous ower who is the orginal owner said all she did was change the front brake pads at toyota,4 new tires, new battery and oil changes.

    Thanks in advance....

x2 although is a DC. I don't see a whole lot of people driving the 1st gen DC tacomas. I would be surprise if he found a 1st gen tacoma extra cab with 35k miles.

air filter, plugs, differential oil, transfer case oil, grease driveline, inspect plug wires, rear brakes, and belts. If the belts aren't cracked or glazed they should be fine...though picking up replacements and having on hand is a good idea. Coolant is good for 100k, but it is 8 years old, so maybe buy a cheap tester and check it. 3.4 is fairly bulletproof as long as it hasn't been overheated.

Good for you-this is one of those rare walk-in deals some are lucky enough to get.
Do you have the maintainance schedule book and manual that go to the truck?

    My advice is as follows:)
-oil changes every 3-4000 miles (my own personal habit-but a good one :D)
-maf cleaner to the maf sensor every 6000 miles (nobody pays attention to this)
-coolant and trans flushes along with pro fuel injector cleaning, a set of new plugs at 60,000 miles
-new timing belt and tensioners, coolant flush, trans and rear fluids inspection at 90,000 miles
that will hold you a while:D

This is what I did with my 2001. It has 100,000 miles and has yet to have one problem and runs better than when it was new (just broke in)

hell there's guys in here who haven't done half that and beat their trucks and they run like new! It's just a great truck.
