Updated: A manhunt remains underway in Warwick as police look for a U.S. Army captain sought in connection with four murders, the shooting of one police officer and the wounding of a second.
Police are warning residents to lock their doors and cars and stay inside as they search for Leonard John Egland, 37, of Fort Lee, Va., who they said is armed and dangerous. Egland has at least two firearms, including an assault rifle, and may be looking for a vehicle to steal. He is believed to have recently returned from a third tour of duty, having served in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
The search has been concentrated for several hours in the area of York Road in Warwick. However, dispatchers are receiving 911 calls reporting possible sightings from surrounding areas as well.

Hope this ends peacefully and no one else gets hurt or killed.

He killed his ex-wife, her boyfriend, and her teenage son in VA. then drove up here to kill his Exe's mother when he encountered the officers that he shot. Still out there.

 

Warwick northeast of Philly by Warminster, Southampton, ETC. Cops have road blocks set up and checking car.

That's sucks. People are losing their minds. I assume he didn't like that the X had a man? I hope no more innocent people get killed

 

Update. The police found his body and called off the search. He was a Captain in the Army with 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Only God knows what went on in his mind. He left behind a daughter. Prayers go out to her. Hopefully there is a family member that will take care of her.

 

I assume suicide? What a fucking psycho, if he wanted to end his own life than fine, but bring in others as well? Including your son?

My heart and prayers go out to the remaining family of those effected. Here, in San Diego, there have been several murder-suicides in recent months. I think about three where the father has killed their family and then themselves, one just last weekend with horrible details. Its scary to know that someone can reach that point and consider killing their family and themselves as the most rational solution. It has been an all too familiar story in this city. Hope for better outcomes.
