265/75-16 on regular cab

    Ok people,
    I have a 2010 4WD regular cab (he pauses as they applaud his short little wheelbase). I use my truck to commute 75 miles per day (round trip) but also hunt some pretty gnarly places 30 days or so a year. Recently natural gas exploration has made the roads/paths at the cabin more shitty and I'd like a bit more tire for next hunting season. I also want to swith to a black wheel.
    As of now, I don't plan on lifting but MAY level in the future. If what I've read here is correct I can run a 265/75-16 on my stock steelies. A shop down the road can powder coat my stock wheels for $250. Now that you have all of the background info, here are the questions. I've searched various threads but get a lot of conflicting info.

    1. Is it true that 265/75-16's won't rub on stock steelies/suspension?
    2. I'm not opposed to buying aftermarket steel rims. What back spacing do I need on a 16x8 steel rim to run this tire size? Anyone running that setup?
    3. I'm considering buying the new rims and selling the stockers w/ tires to offset the cost. What is a realistic price to ask for rims/tires with 20k on them minus the TPMS sensors? I'd like to price for a quick sale and give somebody a good deal.
    4. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

    Id paint the steelies, alot of people are happy with them, Im getting ready to do so my self, I have bought all the stuff and I think it was like $22. I hunt and get in knarly stuff as well so if you chip one you can respray as oppose to having to get repowdercoated which you have already said will cost 250 or 60 to 70 a wheel. I have Nitto terra grapplers which I like, but I am really liking the Hancock ats people are talkig about with a 50000 mile warranty for an offroad tire. And yes the tire you are looking at should be just fine in terms of size. Good luck and these of course are just my opinions, but the bigger tires will look great on your rig

    I installed 265/75/16s on my 2007 access cab with the stock alloy 16" rims and there is no rubbing. they fit great.

    When you paint the steel rims are you using that fusion plastic paint on the center caps? Before I ask I'll search now and see if there's a tech write-up on painting the steel wheels. Wondering what kind of prep people are doing.

    I neglected this project all summer and now that hunting season is here I was kinda screwed. Roads are worse this year. This morning I met a fellow forum member and bought his stock steel wheels. Stopped at Pep Boys on the way home and loaded up some Definity Dakota MT's and couldn't be happier. No rubbing and road manners aren't too bad.

    Have you had a chance to get the suspension flexed out with the wheels turned? I want to upgrade to 265/75r16's but want to make sure there is no rubbing when flexed and twisted.

    Can anyone here, help me out?
    I have a 17" 17x9 with 12" off set with 265/65/17, after i install it, the passenger side stick out more than the driver side, it is about 1/2" stick out more than the other side.
    How I can fix it? put a 1/2" spacer on the driver side to make it even? what i can do to fix this, i bring it back to town fair tires, they won't fix it, and i do post it here, no one can get me the real answer to solve this problem.

    You need to make the dealer you got them from fix it. The offset of the left and right is different. That's the problem. Is it only wheel or both on one side? They should stick out exactly the same...

    The passenger side front & rear stick out the same 1/2" more than driver side both front & rear.
    what you men the offset will be different? you mean driver side and passenger side?
    but how come when i do the tire rotate on the OEM wheels it never happen?

    He means the new rims have the wrong offset. Try switching one side either front or rear and see if the problem still exist.

    Stock 4x4 suspension here with no AAL...I have 265/75R/16 AT3s on TRD OR rims with no rubbing at all. I might set it at .85 when I upgrade to 5100s, but just for aesthetics.

    Shite...Hayes, you were asking about flexing/compression. I can't say I know the answer to that. Still, no problems and I've been offroad a couple of times so far, but nothing extreme - just some mud.

    I do have the set up that you have, it rubber, so I change it back to 265/65/17 master craft AT

    how much is your gas mileage affected with the bigger tires? I want to get some bigger tires, but I also need good gas mileage, as I commute long distances. Do you think one or two sizes above stock would have much affect?

    im assuming you are running 255s? thats like at 30in tire or something.. im running 265 and i lost about 1.2mpg city.. its not a big deal but i aferage about 340 till the light turns on.

    Right now my truck has 215/70R15, this is what came from on it when I bought it, they look VERY undersized for the truck. I was looking at running some 235's on it
