I just thought about it. My parents live in a country club in Austin and have had there mailbox hit by cars going around a corner about 5 times in 20 years or so--each time the driver taking off. This last time, my dad had it re-built with 30 pieces of rebar going down four feet and two pipes surrounded by three layers of brick and mortar. He said, the hell anyone's driving off the next time.

So, maybe it's not all that impossible to believe. But hell... that's bad.

All I know was it was a head-on collision at highway speed. The truck didn't fair too well but better than most cars would.

Yeah my mailbox is cemented 4 feet under and has a large pillar around it. Too many drunks hit it, and now they leave their bumpers. Just make sure you know the laws before you do it.

Actually, my parent's neighbor is the Chief Assistant DA of Travis County. I remember her telling my mom she was thinking of doing the same thing to her mailbox. Can't wait to the carnage the next time around.

Yeah I got it "fixed". I've been having a lot of problems with the engine though, if you haven't seen all my posts for help... It's been a PITA. Throttle body is F'ed, oil got everywhere, have P0171 codes all fucking day long, sucks man. I wrecked it 7 days after I bought it. But I was just fine. My heart was the only thing broken :(

Well glad you're alright, and sorry about the truck. I hope it gets sorted out and she's running like a champ again.
