    Okay...so Newport News is running their second night of curfew 11pm-6am...seems a bit unnecessary to me...then one of my friends tells me there's National Guard - Hummers and dismounts patrolling his street in a not bad neighborhood....I called the NN Emergency Operations Center and they couldn't confirm the NG participation in security ops....Anyone else seen the NG patrolling thier streets? Just call me Mister Conspiracy Theory.....

    Don't need any martial law type action to protect my home Joe Joe...I got that....

    I have a hard time with anything that infringes on my constitutional rights....Curfew - definately not needed the second night - and despite several people telling me they saw hummers with mounted weapons and dismounted troops in their neighborhood, neither the Emergency Operations Center, nor NNPD could tell me the Guard is engaged in "security" operations....something "not right" is going on....

    Newport News cites Governor's executive orders as the authority for curfew but the Guv's order on Irene covered mandatory evac orders...not curfews...the only information posted on Guard involvement talked about engineering and logistics support...not security (i.e. armed patrols)...

    Even if they were on a security detail to enforce curfew, crew serve weapons and/or weapons at all would be, IMHO, a bit overkill. You know how those weekend warriors can get when they try to feel important...:rolleyes:

    Took me about 20min to learn how to drive a nitro rc car, took a year to learn how to fly this. Extremely hard to learn, 90 percent of people give up before they learn just to hover, proven fact. Worth it? YES! Addictive YES! The cost is stupid, would have a lot of money in the bank if I never got started.

    You should do it, it is an extremely rewarding hobby. To take something off the ground and fly it around is pretty awesome, you should look up HorizonHobby.com, they have a lot of starter kits that are cheap and are decent quality. You don't have to pay off your truck to afford to get into this hobby. I recommend everyone look, I need more people to fly with! lol.

    Definitely battery powered, nitro is a hassle {messy gas, starting equipment, glow starters, temp of the outside air and carbuereter adjustments, etc} my big heli was nitro until the motor seized while flying it {landed it safely} converted it to electric and never looked back. Nitro is on it's way out. Glad to see you have an interest into the hobby. Watch the Horizonhobby.com vids and do some research on youtube. Place that order! lol
