If you look at my post ALL I was saying is that a diff locker won't help descent speed.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I would do it, probably in my Jeep though cuz it has lower gearing, just stick it in 4 lo, put her in first gear and walk right up it, do the same going down, would not have to touch the brakes. Lions Back does not scare me, I want to do that and Black Bear pass someday.

    Correct,

Few people managed to overheat brakes (ATRAC) in winter. So its possible to over heat it, all would depend on size of the said hill and traction condition.

    Correct

    Correct,

    and Correct

However, important here is the fact that despite all of the gearing, if one wheel in open diff looses traction, other wheel will simply roll. Hence why locker is important as it binds wheels to the rest of the drive-train. So locker does not slow anything down but rather make sure truck does not out run drivetrain (hardwires, binds wheels to driveshaft). Video I linked is not the best view but shows principle. Ford even with its drivetrain in D is rolling down the hill when open diff has one wheel loosing its traction.

I like how you brought up "experience" You are 19 right, that means I was driving before you pop out of your moma.
Don't worry you will get it when you smash your truck few times. :D

glad you finally agree on my statement or finally read what I first posted.

For experience, I was talking about off road/ rock crawling experience. If you actual read my post you would know what is going on. Try a different optometrist next time.

Age is important, because generally speaking those who are older have much more life experience, and in this particular case, experience with automobiles.

Would you rather have a mechanic working on your truck who has been doing it for 20 years, or the guy who is just getting out of high school?

    Obviously experience matters.

but how do you know he doesnt have alot of experience?

lets say i wheel 3-4 times a week, for almost 3 years. but someone else wheels 1 time a week for 10 years.. does that mean they are more experienced?

    age is NOTHING.

Age is not as important as experience. That is the point trying to be made here.
