Hope all is well over in your guys' area, heard about the long-term power outages:eek:.. lotsa tree limbs and a few trees/telephone poles down, woke up at 3:45am to water dripping on my face, i guess the shingles decided they had enough of the wind and they started blowing up and buckling... we were just talking last month about re-doing my roof then my buddy blew his ankle apart.. so no major damage done here thankfully...

Hooray, power is back on and I has internetz again. :woot:

Power went out just before 10pm Saturday night and came back on around 5pm Sunday. Cell service was spotty at best with basically no data access during that time. Making me think about a backup generator since my house is pure electric with well water.

We lost power again around 4 pm. At least all the water pumped out. Time to go to work where there is power and internet!

Yea man... I spent 16 hours today trying to trouble shoot a circuit. got it back on for an hour.. now theres even more people out of lights than this morning. (pretty sure that mike-mjp2- lives off this circuit)
heres the outage map.. pretty impressive how many people have no power..
    https://www.firstenergycorp.com/outages/outages.do?state_code=NJ

And I got home at 10:45 after learning that the parkway collapsed somewhere between exit 98 and exit 89, to find that my parents basement has water in it, so after manning a shop vac and sump pump in a 5 gallon bucket, I am completely wiped out. now to get 3 hours sleep before having to do the whole day over again...

Were you working the Candlewood section of Howell?

I went down to my sister's place in Manchester for the afternoon and saw 2 power company trucks pulling through the development as I was coming back home. The guys had huge smiles on their faces and I shot 'em a big thumbs up out my window. The driver of the second truck gave me the thumbs up back and I was psyched that things were working again!

Eddie, that really blows about power being out in your neck of the woods for such a long time!! Does anyone in your area have a generator you can pull from to at least keep your fridge going?

Eddie you are close enough to me to make it to my house. We are full up. I can get you some ice and as you know I can cook. We should make a plan for dinner one night soon and just bring a cooler. Let me know, I can get a good dinner going.

everyone who has is using. and from what i understand, they ar enot too capable or multiple household appliances.

have not heard from dave, but was going past his house lastnight, same as me but i do believe he has power. his shop may be inpossible to get to from flooding. anyone who made it last year to his garage after the winter storm/spring rain saw a minor version of that flooding

thanks man, maybe friday night we can do dinner. still tryihng to get things down here. having the pets makes it tough with no running water, no stove, no refridgeration...nothing. i have a small power source from the outlet in the back of the truck, for minor charging of phones and computer...but no internet does not help

I hope he and the family are ok. Some sections of Denville are pretty bad. The Rockaway River was real crazy yesterday.
