Local place has bikes on sale for labor day. Any opinions on the following they have for sale:
    Cannondale
    SL3 $699
    SL4 $549

    Marin Bobcat $560

GT Sensor FS $1146- Kind of out of my budget currently...

Do any of these look like a good price for the bikes? I am digging the SL3 with the sram components but not sure bout the hydro brakes. Should I keep an eye out for other bikes? This place doesn't have a whole lotta selection as far as brands go. I was hoping to keep it under $700

    EDIT:
Just found a '10 Gary Fisher Marlin $650

Components look pretty awesome for the price I think. Some people say its heavy and poorly put together.

IMO, in that price range, all the bikes you linked are pretty similarly spec'd. Personally, a bigger fan of good mechanical discs, but no experience with the Tektro setup.

Fork is a wash between them all, the Dart isnt any better than the RST.

The geometry is close enough with all of them to avoid any standing out. Go try them out and see what fits best.

Been MTB'ing for years & always been a hardtail guy. Decided it was time to save the back (turned 45 on the 27th) & go Full suspension.

Got a sweet deal on this Trek HIFI. Also looks good in the bed of Silver Taco.

I haven't ridden my moutain bike in a while, but I thought I'd show off my latest toy. I've just gotten into tritathlons and I got this bike for a song.

I ride tubeless as well and I would not change it, it allows you to run lower pressures which in turn give you better traction and you don't have to worry about pinch flats

    tubeless are nice...
took me a while to jump on the bandwagon.

it may take some time to figure out what kind of air pressures to run on which trail.
i am able to run around 30# on most trails around here.
any less and it gets "squishy" and you can feel them move in the corners.

that is pretty much the only benefit i can see right now.
    definitely not any lighter.

I don't mind sharing since this is my first "modern" bike. Before this I rode a 97 Trek touring bike and most recently my 1975 Mercier.

The Felt B2 is a $4700 bike new. I paid $2100 a couple of weeks ago. That price included a Garmin Edge 305 cycling computer, aero water bottle, and a rear bottle holder. The original owner also paid to have his local bike shop fit me on the bike, and let me do a decent test ride on a closed road before I bought it. I've added the aero bottle and the rear rack in the picture since the original stuff didn't work well for me.

The bike weights 21.7 lbs will all of the accessories on it. If I'm really anal about it I can probably get down to below 20 lbs, but I'll take the weight off of myself first. :D

The chainrings on the bike are a 53/39. The component set is SRAM red with carbon cranks and carbon rear deraileur.

The rear brake is tucked into the frame behind the cranks to reduce drag.

Glad you guys like it. I'll be doing my first race on it at the end of September. Between now and then I really have to work on a different set of muscles. The upper body strength required to hold the tuck position is more than I bargained for, and with the upright seat tube my quads take a beating.

nice! Got a screamin deal on it sounds like too.

You could save more weight by getting that tie-wrap off the left-side crank too.
