The (2004) Scheduled Maintenance Guide is a little different... I can't find a 7500 mile reference anywhere in it. (Note that the SUVs and Trucks starts on page 20.)

At about 7500 miles with a NA vehicle, if you run turbo I would recommend 3000mi, if SC I would say 5000mi.

These are based off of oil breakdown (due to heat) and load.

    Just my .02

Mobil 1 full synthetic. Change time when the oil gets dirty you change it.

Synthetic oil is not done by miles its done by color.

I should add i have gone 15,000 miles before change out with no problems. I have even took the valve covers off and no build up.

That is very interesting. Thanks for posting this up. It is possible they said, aw, screw it, the 7,500 is too complicated for the average derp. That can be the only reason. The engines didn't change, and the oil didn't get worse.

Just looked at mine and there is no mention of 7,500 mile oil change interval as well. Yeah, they probably said screw it and just simplified it by just going with 5,000 miles.

I bought my TRD with 58k and am on my 5th case of RP,I change myself at between 8k and 10k.And take a sample during the change and for $25 send it to a lab that checks for metal deposits. My Taco is a 3.4 1st Gen 4x4 with 152k. The lab that I send to sends me free postage container that I return to them with my $25 and they send me a full report about any metal deposits and how my engine is holding up to the oil I use in it (5-30w)
I do alot of offroading and towing and want my shit to be right. If anyone is interested the company it is BLACKSTONE LABORATORIES,416 E.Pettit Ave. Fort Wayne,IN 46806,its a good investment !!!! If you need in other info please PM me.:D

Dont' be puttin' commas in after the infraction. That's like putting your seatbelt on after you get pulled over. You said "magnets made of aluminum billet." I'm a technical editor. Don't fuck with me! :D (just giving you are hard time).

But I just can't see buying a $200 filter case with $30 replacement cartridges. Stock stuff works great.

Really, by color..., thats not telling you if the oil is still workin or not, try that with a diesel and you will have to change the oil after every time you start it..
