I've narrowed it down to two choices for new tires on my 07 DC Sport w/ a 2.5" lift. I wanted to get your input...

Should I go w/ Cooper STT in 285/70/17
    Or
Toyo Open Country M/T in 265/70/17

(I narrowed it down to these because they are comparable in price the 285 toyo's were just too much)

Put on a bum costume and sit out in the Walmart parking lot for a couple of days panning for extra cash, you should make a good amount if you don't smell to bad and appear to be in desperate need, then take the extra cash and get the 285 Toyo's!!
Sorry bout that, but the 285 toyo's will look nicer IMHO, otherwise you will want the 285 Toyo's everyday after you didn't get em.

Delmarva, how was the wear on the Coopers? I am thinking of getting some. Did they do good in the mud? Are the quiet on the road? I have been running BFG MT's forever and I still love thier performance, wear, and the noise wasnt bad. How to they compare with the Coops?

I like the looks of the sidewalls on the Cooper better and, that, combined with the fact that these would be 285's as opposed to the 265's, would make the choice easy for me....(GO WITH THE COOPERS!) Maybe a little plastic splash guard trimming in your front wheel wells....no big deal) DO IT!

Awesome. Did 20k on them, but then replaced them with the Nittos due to an "alignment issue." (long long story).

They are noisy -- but to be expected...

The alignment issue didnt have anything to do with the tires did it?
I think I may give them a try. Can you recall what you paid for them.

Looks like its pretty even. I was wondering what will be better on the road. They are both great off-road (what i need for the weekends) but this is also my daily driver.

They're probably very similar - Huge lugs and all on the road. Mine did very well in the rain (I was pleasantly surprised.)

It all comes down to cost. The Coopers are a great tire at a good price. The Toyos are a good tire at a ridiculous price. Plus 285 in Coopers will win anyday over 265 Toyos

I went with coopers only because they are 285's and the Toyos are 265. Toyos are awsome though.

Their are a lot of these tires ran around here where I live. Most guys started out with the Cooper's I guess they were around here first. Many switched to the Toyo's after their Coopers wore out. I think the Toyos were a little cheaper . But it seems as though we get a little more wear out of the Cooper's. Also as far as warranty issue's cooper has been real good to work with. I now have Cooper Discover S/T and wish I would have stayed with the STT's. Just my 2 cents.

STT just because your getting the wider tire (285) looks more aggressive IMO
