Best rear setup to match my front Coilovers??

I've got a 06 DC TRD O/R with Donahoe Racing 2.5" coilovers up front. I just bought the truck and haven't had a chance to off road yet, but I like the feel from the upgraded suspension. The 2.5" coilovers provide about 1.25" more lift up front than my 3" rev tek lift on my 05 TRD Sport.

I'd like to upgrade the suspension in the rear but I'm on a tight budget and not sure what route to take. The truck has 57K miles and i'm not the original owner. Would I qualify for a TSB? Am I better off spending less than $250 for a leaf pack, aal, or rear bilsteins? My goal is to lift the rear 1-2" and provide a smoother ride that can also handle my quad in the back when necessary.

$250-$200. I know I can't get too fancy with that amount, but I'm not looking for any miracles, just a good, solid setup that adds 1-2" lift and provides a smooth ride.

 

check out icon vehicle dynamics(formerly donahoe) new rear VS series shock, thats what im running and they are a really nice match with the front coilovers.

I think you are gonna have to give up some ride quality for that price. An AAL would give you the lift. Add 5100s and you might get a little better ride, but harsher than stock.

 

well for 200-250 you could go with bilstein 5100s but i would just save my money, the icons are super nice but triple or quadruple your budget!

 

yeah the icons would be awesome, but I'm not ready to drop $500+ on rear suspension yet. I'm hoping to put some money into short tube headers and window tint.

So maybe just do an AAL? What is the benefit in paying for that instead of doing the TSB? And how do i determine if i qualify for the TSB?

i got my fox rear 2.0 pro series piggyback shocks off CL for 200 bucks, brand new. a decent set on CL will go for 200-250 and they are ALOT better than stock, i have SAW coilovers and camburg spindles with the shocks and a deaver pack and i love it offroad

 

i think they were under 500 maybe 250-300. They dont show the price on the site yet, if you call icon they'll tell you, its the 2.0 VS series rear shock.

I hear you Chiba about doing it right the first time. I'll call Icon tomorrow. Do the shocks add any lift? Are they stiffer or softer or smoother than stock TRD shocks? Will i need to change anything with the leaf springs or get an alignment?
