How did I miss this thread? I saw the title and just assumed it was some guy trying to gain muscle mass.....

Don't do it!! Don't try to gain weight on purpose!!! Once you go forward, you might discover its that much harder to take it off (and regret it)!!!
Find that happy medium where you eat as much as you need and you stay the same weight. Believe me...as you get older, things just aren't as easy to maintain.

I'd absolutely KILL to have a metabolism like yours and not have to do anything to keep it. :(

But hell.... back in college, I ate CHEESESTEAK STROMBOLI's every night as a snack and I gained about 50lbs! Thank Gawd, after I graduated....I lost all of it and went back to within 10lbs of my high school weight.

thats just it though, i dont feel like im at a healthy weight though. i was at 125 and i was happy at that number. im down to like 112 and im too skinny. all my pants are too big and i always just eat anything which is cool and all. but like i said, it doesnt make me feel healthy where im at now.

whos to say i get sick and lose more? what do i do then? last time i got sick pretty bad i lost 10lbs, that was with salmonella which i dont ever plan on gettin again but still i dont want to risk losin more than where im at now.

just wanted to gain back up to 120 if i could

Sounds like you gotta learn how to S L O W down and relax.

What I mean by that is.... Metabolisms don't stay high on their own. I haven't read all the posts and I don't know what you do for a living - but you're probably running around like a chicken with their head cut off and/or you've got a stressful job.

Get a desk job....I can tell ya it makes it hard to keep it off . I'm trying to lose a few, but with a medical issue waiting to be figured out I can't do much but eat right and stay active.

Get involved in a long term serious relationship :D people always get fat that way, my BF has gained 15-20lbs in a year with me around.

But seriously I was about 120 in high school, then I joined the police department and being only 5'2" and 120lbs in an academy of all guys was not easy. I started weight training 5-6 days a week along with supplements to gain weight and not much size, I gained 15lbs and stayed the same size that way. Then I got injured and left the PD and dropped some of the weight, stayed that way for years without worrying about what I ate or how I worked out, but I did have a job where I rode a bike for 8hrs a day so that probably helped a lot. Now that I am older and less active I have to make more of an effort to keep it off. I say just chill out, do what makes you feel good and happy, your body will figure out where your natural weight is.

Oh yeah and Bacon Explosion is fantastic, check out my pics in that thread :)

I've had a high metabolism my whole life no matter what I did. I'm 5'11" and never broke 150lbs until I started working where I ate Wendy's 2-3 times a week. I was 146 from HS up through college and even now (after getting up to 155 at one point) I'm back to 146. Dr that did my work physical said I should be around 150, but no matter what I eat I'm not gaining weight. I can't find ANYTHING that has extra calories. Everything out there is low fat, low calorie, etc. I'd love to find some sort of shake mix with lots of calories and use it to supplement meals, but I can't find anything. Everything on the market is targeted at people that need to lose weight.

I had a desk job too. It's at a hospital doing computer support, but I do get around. I'm eating breakfast for the first time in years (so I'm actually getting 3 meals a day). I take the stairs most of the time hoping that'll start building a little more muscle or at least stamina, but maybe that's not helping me gain weight. Burning calories faster than building muscle.

I'm hoping to get a bowflex this summer and just start working out. Maybe put a little weight on that way, build up my energy level, work off stress, and physically tire myself so I sleep better.

    HOLY Hell? 5'11"??

How many really TALL women do you see that are 'healthy sized' ?? NONE!!! Atleast not that I've seen. They're all like sticks.... (pardon)

If you gain weight, you'll disrupt the laws of physics that keep you standing upright and the men won't have long shapely legs to drool over. (laugh)

But yeah....EAT MORE!! Get a part-time job at Wendy's or McDonalds again, ge a desk job, watch more TV, and believe me.... eat a lot of meat & cheese filled stromboli's (or calzone's). They're nice and fattilicious!

lol I have a desk job. Computer support. And I eat at the hospital cafeteria, and more than I did before. lol I didn't work at Wendys. I just worked down the road from one so it was the quickest way to get lunch. There's no Wendy's, McDonalds or BK close enough to the hospital to grab something on my half hour lunch. lol But I've tried taking protein shakes with me and drinking that along with getting breakfast. I also don't do any kind of diet food (soda, low fat chips, whatever) and we buy whole milk just for the extra fat n calories.

I think *my* problem is my appetite dropped during college. Only had time to eat one meal a day. Didn't lose or gain any weight, but I can't eat as much at a time since then. Which could also be 'Ark's problem. Maybe not the inability to stuff herself as much, but not enough time to stop and eat a large meal. So a high calorie drink/shake that can be sipped on here and there all day in between meals would help. My problem is finding something to push me over my normal calorie intake. I can't seem to find any high calorie mixes. Lots of protein or weight LOSS shakes, but no high calorie ones. Unless someone can recommend something. :D Wife makes lots of pasta too, but I can eat that only so many days in a row before getting sick of it. lol

So there are two of you that are trying to gain weight?
Brain fart ....I got you confused with 07tacoark (didn't pay attention to who was posting) Ha derr!! (sorry)

Damn, I'd trade both of you my *LOVE for food* and appetite for both of your metabolisms.

    That's every womans dream!!

But hey, as long as you both are healthy (and happy) - don't stress yourself out trying so hard. Start packing a cooler with you all the time and fill it full of everything and anything and just EAT EAT EAT!!! Drink too... ;)

It's ok! :D I can just relate to her. I've been a "twig" my whole life and always wanted to pack on a few pounds. If for nothing more than not hitting a bone when I smack my arm on something. That shit HURTS! lol And my weight never changes despite what I eat. I was so happy when I finally broke 150, but within a couple months it started coming off again. So I'm thinking more muscle is the key, and thus a bowflex or other form of work out.

    not my dream :p

i cant pack a cooler for work. the only cooler we have is in the ladies lounge and someone would steal it. secondly theres no room in my room to keep somethin cool for a while anyways. :(

yeah, its definetly hard to find a high calorie anything. i have found the ensure drinks that are for weight gain/management and they are decent tasting. just after a while it gets old from the same dam flavors all the time

but yes, i dont have the time to stop and eat a decent sized meal with what i do for a living. what i do does keep me in shape, but then again if im not eatin enough to compensate for what my body is burning off then i lose out. i do keep oatmeal cream pies, pecan spinwheels and honey buns under my sink at work for the quick fixes after each client and it seems to be helping here lately

had a desk job back a few yrs ago... wont do it again. im too active and i need to stay moving. im not sayin a desk job is for lazy people, im just sayin i cant sit still... ive never been used to that.

im in a serious relationship and we both are actually tryin to gain muscle and get in better shape :D hell ive been in serious relationships before and never really gained weight  but like i said, im an extremely active person, my metabolism is obviously sky high. i guess me and PT need to patent our own weight gain system and maybe we will become multi-millionares :D:D:D:D

and as for the bacon explosion.... its gonna get cooked soon, very very soon
