Are you insinuating that the 1st gen steering rack is weak? Because that would make you a real asshole.

A real, truth telling, asshole. :D

I hope they checked his insurance before the tow - he didn't brake too well, either.

What was going on with his wheels spinning backwards? Was he in reverse?

I'm guessing the non-douches don't paint their cars that way, either!

x2. It's not like I'm the Duke of Offroad and you can only go when I post up. I encourage all of you to find new places and shout out that you are going someplace and need a second truck, or think that others might enjoy coming. If you wait around, then no one goes anywhere, and the rest of us don't get to see any cool pics or stories of adventures. I work a pretty boring job, I need something cool to read to keep me going through the week!

The only reason I did this thread is to organize the more official stuff, make it easier to find.

I'm going this weekend because I've been driving my bald street tires for a month and there's no way I'm wasting 3 days on pavement the whole time.

    If I get my way,

    Saturday - TSF with bobert
Sunday - Barlow Toll Road/Badger Lake or Goat Mountain exploration depending on interest
Monday - Crooked Finger Road (Scotts Mills) exploration

As Rob said, post up if you can make it and we can arrange to meet up before heading out, otherwise no harm and hope to see you next time.

You still owe me a passenger seat to the dunes.

find more cool places! I scour google maps, riderplanet, youtube, jeep forums, ancient ttora threads, FJCruiserforums.com, xterra forums, you name it! Any time I find something worth checking out, it's added to my notepad document.

I have a good list of places to explore, but I need time (and sometimes backup in case I get stuck!). it takes a LOT of time to stumble across stuff.
I spent a few hours near Lukarilla and found the most boring, annoying roads (everything was a dead end)
I found that awesome little stretch of Sardine Road, but battled trees (I've gone back, went east instead of west... nothing to note, just LOTS of road)
There's a nice little powerline in Astoria, but not worth driving the distance to go on a stretch that's so short
My most epic exploration was with Joe - I don't know if it would be worth going now in the dry, but that road just about kicked our butts.

If you don't know where to go, you can help me explore:
    Crooked finger road area
    Lolo pass
    Snow peak
    Barlow Toll Road
    Badger Lake
    Goat Mountain
Barney Reservoir (I have coordinates at least for this one)
    Oregon Back Country Discovery Route
    Bohemia Mines
Zig Zag Trail? i don't know if this exists
    Areas near Detroit
    Hills outside of Oakridge
I found some possible trails near where hwy 58 and 97 meet
    McCoy
There's tons of areas near Christmas Valley and Bend from the sounds of it
Klamath Falls has ridiculous area to explore

I know a few on 58 by oakridge. But its not worth a drive from ptown for. Their are a few special spots I found by lapine that follow thr deshutes river, but still trying to learn if its private land. But I keep searching for stuff that we could spend a day on.

    I have 4WD again! Woo-hoo!

I've heard really good things about Goat and I definitely want to explore it, but I'm not sure I want to swallow the gas bill for both TSF and Goat in one weekend haha. I'll see how much I burn Saturday.

I've spent many, many Saturdays bombing around Barney trying to find a backdoor to TSF. I keep running into gates or, literally, blown up roads. I've only found one road that needs 4WD and I'm pretty sure its illegal, so its only logging roads. There are some good views and its a good place to blow off steam. Finally got a credible lead on a route through there to TSF I still need to check out.

Do you see the wing on the car? What makes you think he didn't do that paint job himself?
