I want to go out shooting. Don't own my own gun though. Have some experience with my favorite gun. AR15. The illegal 3 round burst is fun.

Food for thought - how about just not run that red light and speed so much? These automated ticketing programs are meant to be a deterrent and help reduce the blatant breaking of the law for these things. If you did it and they send you a ticket you should pay. If you did not do it then that is the time to fight the system.

I hate people that run late yellows or reds. Did that extra 30 seconds really save you time?

    I know I am soapboxing.

i don't run red lights and i don't normally speed, but when they put the traps at a spot where a 35mph goes to a 30mph those who were going only 5 over are now going 10 over get a ticket...and it's bs

and if the police want to give tickets for that, then put a person there handing out tickets and don't leave it up to automated devices that have been known to get the wrong person

but good to know there are loopholes and always good to be more informed about regulations that written with grey lines

The light at Santa Fe and Mineral is horrible. Before they installed the Traffic cameras, 5-6 drivers would go through the intersection, while the light was red, making a left turn. Now it isn't much better because drivers stop at the light when its yellow, so fewer people get through.

Since I drive from Littleton to Northglen every day, I know the benefits of making it through the intersection on yellow and not. Its not just 30 seconds, more like 5 minutes, because all of the lights are timed to stop traffic at a specific interval.

Colorado does have a lot of bad drivers though. Going through down town, on I25, in the afternoon, its faster to drive in the right lanes than the fast lane because people are stopping traffic to get in the fast lane. Also, I25 is 55MPH, common speed is 65MPH but of course there is always someone wanting to do 70MPH+, weaving in and out of traffic.

they also mentioned in that article about an intersection in fort collins where prior to the red light photo the intersection saw around 30 accidents...since the light the subsequent years saw over 50 accidents...mainly caused by more people slamming their brakes on when the light turns yellow

not advocating people to run yellow and red lights, just bringing it up

i've been t-boned by an old man running a red light and my gf got ran into in the center of an intersection because someone was trying to beat the yellow light and ran the red while she was turning clearing the intersection she was in...so i am strongly against running lights

yea don't you like how at certain times, the right lane is the new passing lane! i often am in the right lane on 6th coming in from lakewood for that same reason

    Speed limits are for pussies.
Stop signs and lights are a must however. No need for accidents.

Its funny, I saw a tow rig and a big 25ft+ trailer lock up the brakes to stop at the intersection (he was going downhill.) The cameras took about 6 pictures because he stopped 3-4ft in to the intersection.

We have those speeding cameras all over tucson and phoenix.

However, you have to be going at least 11 mph over the speed limit to get flashed. But for some reason 95% of people in tucson think you will get flashed for going 45 in a 45 and thus slow down to 40.....

And like stated before, you don't have to pay the ticket unless it is personally served to you.....But a funny story about that. One time a guy dressed in plain clothes knocked on our door and asked if I was related to my dad. and when i said yes he gave me his ticket and said he had just been served....So tell your family, if anyone asks, they don't know you!!!

I think arizona also has something about proving your speed. If a cop pulls you over for speeding you can ask to see the radar gun and if they can't show you your speed, then they can't write you a ticket. Not sure on the details of that one, but I think it's something like that. I'm not sure if CO has the same set up.

Yea I have heard about the proving your speed thing. I asked during my last stop because the cop was going the opposite direction. He walked me to the car and showed me the display that is above his steering wheel. I was hopeful but hit with a stupid 10 over.

Good to know they'll actually show you tho.

Does CO have some law about bad weather? I got a ticket in May and the cop said that because it was "bad weather" (scattered rain and small sized hail) the speed limit was actually 15 MPH below the posted speed limit.

Arizona's version is optional. My driving instructor told us that in bad weather like dust storms, monsoons, whatever, it's "the posted speed limit or however slow you want to drive to feel safe"

he only has a couple things posted now, fish tanks and the crawler but he has to get rid of a lot of stuff he said. His name is mike, he did mention that he has a tig welder and other stuff. Id just respond to one of his other craigslist ads and ask what else he wants to part with
