And I know a guy who has been averaging 20 mpg mixed driving, about a half point to a point higher than my truck that sees about 80% long-cruise highway.

I understand its the best selling pickup but to ME, it seems other companies are being more innovative and pushing the envelope more than toyota. In a few years, unless toyota starts stepping up, I bet they'll see sales drop. They cannot be satisfied with the status quo.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard toyota driver and will always drive one but this new tacoma is really a disappointment. Its almost as if toyota knows it doesn't need to innovate because it's the best selling truck. Hopefully they have something up their sleeve.

I for one will be overjoyed when the 2012's come out and we can focus our attention on the 2013 speculation thread

Toyota needs to get on this release/ordering info. My piece of crap car is accelerating its death march. Already this summer has cost me about $1500 and it died AGAIN today. Piece of crap.

Just got back from the dealer and after a few phone calls he said leather was not an option. He did say the local dealer works with a local company that can have it custom installed with any color, perferation, and heated for about $2,000. Looks like I'm going with the water resistant seats for now...and gotta get the 2012 to ensure I don't get the eco-lose

Yeah, you're in a smaller truck, with far less power, less room, less payload capacity, less towing capacity. Thankfully it probably cost $15k less than the Ecoboost Ford though...

Well I am actually hoping to buy a truck this weekend if I dont like the 2012 model (if we see something official about it tomorrow). I was just trying to use Toyota's Build tool to make one and I keep getting messages that the Page is not found, and now its some kind of SQL error. Tested on a Corolla and Camry too. Maybe they are updating the build pages?

the build your own function has had issues for a month or two. I'd go on and build a 4x4 double cab long bed with the sport package and it has a black bumper, flares and mirrors. havent checked it yet.

I messed around with this feature last year when the 2011 was first announced. Results varied depending on the zipcode you entered for yourself.

If they still ask for zipcode, enter zipcodes from different parts of the country if yours doesn't work.

i've tried different zipcodes and then going through different directories to the build a toyota portion. still no luck now. It said the directory is not found. My guess is they are going to update it with new goodies for us. Its not just the Tacoma though. The 4runner page isnt working either and I am trying different zip codes.
