If you want something manly I think you are looking at the wrong car. Not much manly about these rice rockets!


You said no GM's, but how about a Mustang GT? Way more manly, easily gets 22+MPGs, exhaust sounds awesome and will blow the effin' doors off these boosted ecoboxes.


Another thing you may not have considered is car insurance. Looks like you are fairly young. You may end up sending all the money you save on gas to your auto insurance company.

 

No personal experience but I know a few people with 08+ WRX's and STI's and they're all very happy overall with them and I haven't heard any major issues. Those boxer engines sound awesome with aftermarket exhaust. Definitely check a Subaru forum out to check on any common issues.

 

No can do on the stang. We already have a 65, too many kids at school drive them, and I have to have a backseat.

 

So I did my research on the forums and I think I have changed my mind. 06-11 all have the piston problems with the engines. Anyone know a good/reliable car that is somewhat manly and not a real chick car?

I'm a Subaru fan but would never go with a WRX, may to many problems for my likings. Unfortunately, all of the problems seem to be pretty major too ..

It came down to a loaded Mazda Speed3, Dk Gray, or my truck ..the speed3's are amazing.

 

What about just an Impreza with WRX tastes? lol it seems to be the turbos with the problems not the regular 2.5 boxer engine in the subaru line up

 

The looks of the 2012's are nice plus I can still get AWD and stick

The mpg's are better on them but I was wondering about performance mods

 

Have you checked out the Mazda3? the pre '08 I mean since the new ones look like a pile of dog doo. The hatch looks really good IMO, gets better MPG than the subaru, and can be had in a stick.

The previous owner hauled trailers behind big rigs and such. I will admit I have beat on it but c'mon I havent been that hard on it. Plus I see others do worse shit and not have the problems I do.
