I knew some one would ask....

They do hit. Actually they hit when I was redoing my bypasses. I put on a set of 14" Piggy Backs we had here at the shop. I went out on a dirt road, nothing crazy, came around a blind corner into a gnarly hit. I think because the 14"'s are way shorter on compressed length they slammed into my glass. Since I've had my 18's I've never hit, not even rubbing on the rear glass. Need not worry, I'll have new front and rear glass soon.

Wait if you're running 18's, aren't you restricting you're uptravel (aside from the fenders)? I'm running a completely verticle 16" and my bedcage is no shorter than yours. Hell if anything your cage sits lower than mine. If I was running an 18" the bottom the shock body would end up being my bump and stop my uptravel short by probably 2".

Correct, if I was running a fox, king, SAW, ect... But I have 18" Omega bypasses. Icon shocks compressed lenghths are alot shorter then industry standard lengths.

Gotcha. Shows what I know about Icon.

Yeah, you are going to have to post more pictures of the rear suspension or give us a linkey to a build thread somewhere. I wanna see how you did your Tundy axle setup. :)

    Vehicle:

can you explain how going from a 14" shock to a 18"shock would not make your tires hit your bedsides, if you did not move your upper shock mounts to compensate for the bigger shock, are you using your shock as a bump stop and making it bottom out on compression to prevent uptravel? the geometry on the leaf spring does not change by adding a longer shock unless your bottoming that shock out, or did you add bump stops to prevent uptravel, really am confused by your theory, or is it maybe since your glass is already "Clearanced" you think its no longer "hitting"(in the way)? something is not right in "Dodge city"!
