I'm a sales manager at a Toyota dealership and I can tell you guys that we've already placed our preference order for the first shipment of 2012 Tacomas. We have seven allocated to us. Our earliest build date from the San Antonio plant is September 8th. I can also tell you that I've seen two new colors for the Tacoma line in our allocation -- spruce mica and nautical blue metallic. Spruce mica is currently available on the Camry, and nautical blue metallic is available on the Corolla and Highlander (in my region, at least).

Hope these tiny bits of info kind of quell some of your collective appetites.

We'll see if it does anything.

I'm going up to my Toyota dealership this weekend to pick some stuff up - I'll see what they can tell me.

I went by the dealer two days ago and he showed me trucks that were allocated to region I believe it was 15 and they should have them in the next few weeks. I do remember about a month ago seeing an official Toyota document mentioning today as the release date of the pictures for the Tacoma. I am patiently waiting to see if I should go find the last of the 2011 or go 2012. I could not confirm price although I was told they had the huge price increase I believe it was March of this year and with no major enhancements to the 2012 they were expecting little to no price increase for the 2012.

I just picked this up from my local dealership today, looking to buy my first Taco once these are in.

Looks much better in the brochure than on the video.

Looks like they also upgraded the backup camera with the marker/guide lines.

Big +1 for the Toyota Rep err...new guy! :D I LOVE the spruce mica tundra that is always parked at the local coffee shop. First and only thing that I've seen that interests me at all about the 2012. Good to know I'm not missing out on a new engine for another year.

Confirmation that I can just go look for a great deal on a 2011 TRD Off Road. Awesome!

Other than color, there looks to be zero that would make me spend extra on the 2012. Entune is nice, but for the difference in price I can get something aftermarket.

    Am I missing anything glaring?
