kinda confused

ive had my lift on for a few months have 5100s with ebiach springs and a 1.5 aal and ive been noticing that the right rear is a little bit taller than the left side. but today my friend was following me and he said it is a noticeable difference. what could be causing that lmost looks like the bed is being pushed up i havent even really went offroad since the lift.

 

Not 100% positive on '98's but for my 2000 (up to 2004) the shocks are side specific, driverside is shorter than pass. side

if yours are side specific make sure you got them right, not sure what diff it would make in your circumstance, maybe your AAL is junk, it happens

 

how can i tell if the shock is for the left or fight side? the aal looks like it has the same bends at the same place as the other but idk. my bed look slanted my friend said. how can i tell if the aal is bad

 

If you still have basically the same arc as the rest of springs a bad AAL is probably not the issue, also I shoulda asked if you have the 5125 Bilsteins on the rear or are you still stock ( you can run stock shocks with an AAL I believe, def. not advisable & dont offroad)

if you have upgraded shocks all around look at the last 2 numeric digits on part # the higher number will be for the pass. side..

 

i have 5100s in the rear also ill check them out i didnt kno they were side sensitive ill check it out thanks

Driverside will be F4-BE5-D559-TO

 

i checked and they are on the correctside maybe its just our eyes and maybe the crown in the road but its going to be in the back of my mind the whole time could the bed be crooked from the lift and cause it to sit higher than the other side

 

I think that's a pretty common issue for our trucks, I've seen it called the "taco lean" on here before. Here's a thread on it:

Can ya put up a few GOOD pics of your rear leafs as it sits right now,unloaded on level ground ?? It'll help a ton

surprised no ones chimed in with the so called " 'taco lean " I don't have it, most guys around here don't have it, I think some may of course but from my experience shit like that is usually atributted to a weak/broken spring regardless of make or model

Yeah as good an answer as any, I just find it hard to believe that any manufacturer would mass produce a vehicle that inheritly leans more to one side than the other, I mean it could happen but wouldn't someone,even off the assembly line look & say "hey that truck is leaning more to one side than the other." I guess I'm getting at the "cause & effect" thing..

We see the effect (looks crooked) its just the cause of it needing addressed...

 

Yeah that's a really good point, I've just seen that term a lot on here, but I don't think I've ever really seen an answer for the cause of it. It'd be interesting to find out.
